Who besides the dealers works on MINIs in the SF Bay Area???

Hi,

I have a 2003 MC with 55,600 miles on it. I am looking for a place to do oil changes and other routine maintenance on my MINI. I like the dealer service, just looking to see if there is anything else out there. I will NOT take my MINI to any rapid oil change type places. I am looking for a reputable, skilled, mechanic. I am also looking for a place to purchase and install some non-runflat tires to replace my original Goodyear Eagle Runflats. I live in Union City and work in Livermore and I am willing to drive up to 40 miles for the right place.

Thanks

Bay Bridge Motors in Oakland. Sorry I don't have their address or number, I just know of a few guys that get work done there.

Did your original Goodyear Eagle Runflats really last 55.6k miles? Try the Tire Rack. They will ship to the tire dealer of your choice for mounting.

Sorry not on your side of the bay, but I've taken my MCS to German Motor Specialist (www.gms.cc) in Sunnyvale. They're a BMW Independent and have worked on my MCS as well as other MINIs (saw one in the shop for clutch replacement). Am happy with bringing my cars there for the past several years.

Not sure if they still have first time customer discounts with referrals, PM me if you want to give them my name.

As for tires, I like the customer service from America's Tire... if you're in the door before they close, they'll work on your car even if they've closed and haven't started on your workorder. They'll also try to repair your tire, even when I didn't buy it from them (I've bought other tires from them).

Thanks for the replys.

And yes my original run-flats have 55,700 miles on them! I rotated them once (maybe twice). They are mostly highway miles as I commute 70 miles, 5 days a week. I've done one Phil Wick's driving academy, but other than that, just daily driving and the occasional road trip to Reno or Monterrey. I would probably not be considered an aggressive or spirited driver, although I do drive primarily in the fast lane or the next to the fast lane (mainly to avoid gravel spitting trucks on 580).
