Interior/Exterior Rear storage organizer
I got one of those inexpensive shoe box-sized containers (Rubbermaid-type...clear plastic, colored plastic snap-lid) and drilled a hole near the bottom, fore and aft. Through the holes I fished a small bungee cord, in one side of the box and out the other, hooking the ends to the anchor points in the boot. The bungee cord keeps the container from sliding around and I can put all kinds of things in there. The covered plastic top doesn't mind if book bags, grocery bags, musical instruments or other stuff gets piled on top. These containers are about the right size to fit to one side of the boot....I could add another to the other side, but all my stuff fits in one. btw, the container I selected for my MINI had an IB-colored top, of course.
For bigger stuff, I don't know...just keep it light!!

I have one of the organizers and I like it.
If you want to put a torque wrench in it, all the partitions would have to be down.

I have 2 storage units for sale.. from Texas Saddle Bags. They fit in back storage area, perfectly, even with a CD changer. When back seats are down you have an even level for full rear area. Each opens for 2 inside storage areas, stacks on top of each other, will not slide around. Asking $90, original cost was 200. In perfect condition. Sold MINI, so cannot use them.
