Those of us staying in Boone after the Ghost Train event are planning a mountain drive on Sunday 10/23. If you were wanting to participate in a fall mountain drive, this is you chance. We will be meeting at the Quality Inn in Boone between 11:00 and 11:30. We could either have lunch before we depart or after the approx. 2-21/2 hour drive, whatever folks want to do. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome. Either post here if you're interested or PM me. I hope we have a number of folks who want to join us for this fun drive.

I'm bumping this once again but due to the LIMITED response so far (like none), it appears no one is up for a pleasant fall Sunday drive in the mountains! Go figure. You'll regret missing out on this the next morning.

 

I am already regretting it

But I have to drive down to Atlanta that day, and I think that's enough of a trip for one day.

 

Just a reminder that this drive is this coming weekend.

We would love to have you join us on Sunday. This drive was planned for folks who did not want to participate in the Ghost Train. We are planning on leaving the Quality Inn in Boone between 11 and 11:30 Sunday morning. The specific route has not yet been determined as we are waiting to see how many folks show up, where they'd like to go etc. The person in charge of the drive grew up in the Boone area so he knows the roads very well and has several routes in mind. It will be a fun leisurely drive. Let me know if you are definitely going to show up so we know to look for you and not leave you behind. Also remember to bring your 2-way radio if you have one.

I hope some other folks choose to take advantage of this as well. It promises to be a cool crisp weekend in the mountains and the leaves are supposed to be at their peak.

What a great day for a drive! It was a beautiful cool crisp day and not a cloud in the sky. Dwayn took us on some great mountain roads and lunch in Little Switzerland was wonderful. Those who chose not to participate really missed out.
