Switch from M7 springs to H&R coilovers...looking for answers

I had this question posted in another thread but thought it could use it's own thread. I am considering replacing my M7 springs with a set of H&R coilovers. I will be using these on my daily driven 04MCS. I do not autocross my MCS and most of my driving is on the highway, very little city driving.
Do you have to run camber plates with coilovers? I know plates are great to have if you are going to autocross but if I am getting coilovers just to go lower and want to keep a near stock camber setting/alignment- can it be done without plates? I just got an offer on a set of lightly used H&R coilovers from an individual that is selling his car- they will be hard to pass up at the price if I don't need the plates.
Does anyone have any idea how low I can go with the H&Rs? I am looking to get around 2-2.25 inches worth of total drop (from the factory height) and I'm not sure if the H&Rs will get me there. The M7s are great but I want to go a bit lower. Thanks in advance for your help.

I went to H&R coilovers and found the drop to be too low in the front even at the highest setting. I put a set of Helix camber plates in just to get the front raised. The plates raised the nose to just the right spot for me.

Morales,
Thanks. Did you run the car at all without the camber plates- were you able to get the alingment within specs? Your car looks great (gallery pics). How is the ride with the H&Rs?

I ran the car for about 2 weeks without the camber plates and it was too low. Bottoming out all over the place. This was on the absolute highest setting. The camber plates from Helix raised the nose just enough that it is about where I was when I had the springs only.
I have not had the time to get an alignment done yet. Hopefully this week.
As for the ride, I am running the RSS Club Sports. I thought they might be a bit too harsh, but I love them. I found the springs only to ride harhser than this setup.

addin' the front plates will no longer have that dip in the nose so was it necessary to raise the rear to dip again or r u runnin' it the same front to rear?
