Does the dash unit play MP3 discs?

No - it only decodes and plays the standard cd format. It does play CDRs of course but they have to be in "audio cd format"

 

what about the HK?

NO to either the OEM or the HK radio. Neither are MP3 format players. These type units have special decoders, almost mini computers that translate the PC MP3 format. You will have to use the AUX on the back of the newest models or use Blitzsafe.

 

That's a bummer.
