I enjoyed my first time!

Hi everyone! I'm new to North American Motoring and new to the MINI search. I've always loved MINI coopers, and now I'm finally financially ready to get one of my own!
Yesterday afternoon I stopped by the local dealership Dreyer & Reinbold to take a test drive. The cars are so fun to drive, and the people there were so friendly. I talked to Jim and he was really helpful in explaining all of the fine details of the car, along with the dozens of different options I have for building my own. Then the sales manager (WHO IS EVEN BRITISH!) came over and introduced himself and we talked a little about the background of MINIs. I thought it was nice how they actually took time to talk to me, rather than being more concerned with my checkbook, as I've experienced at other car dealerships.
Overall, I am really happy with the way my search has begun. At first I was a bit intimidated to go to a dealership by myself, but I left feeling so excited about the friendliness and helpfulness that I experienced. I'd have to say my journey to becoming a happy MINI owner is off to a great start!

I just ordered a MINI. Initially I was afraid of ordering a car. This is something I had never done. I was getting frustrated by D&R not having anything I could afford in stock. [Model Year change over and Increasing gasoline prices due to huricanes] But thanks to my MA Richard, Ken in finances and John (with his ultra cool Brittish accent) made the order process so painless it almost tickled. Far easier than any other car I had purchased! [yes this is our third purchase and our first New car order].

The people at D&R are great and quickly make you one of the family. If you are not sure where to purchase from and wouldn't mind picking up in Indy, Come to D&R!

Now what is your MINI going to look like? When are you going to order? Have you visited MINICCI's web page?

Ah, that was one wonderful song . But I digress... and I'm dating myself!

Congratulations and welcome! Good luck configuring your car... isn't it wonderful to be able to design exactly the car you want? If find yourself undecided on any option just post your dilema here. You'll have a second opinion in no time. And a third...  and a fourth...   and a fifth....... .

Cinnamon_Girl,

Welcome to NAM

Of all the cars I've owned this is only the second one I ordered (the first was a 1968 <yeah before most of you were born> Dodge)

By ordering it you get what you want not what they want to sell you.

Earl

Keep on Rockin' in the Free World

Hi, guys! I figured I'd let you in on the latest in my MINI search. Right now I am trying to decide between Dark Silver and Astro Black. I am also a little torn between the hardtop or the cabrio. Ever since the cabrio came out it has been my FAVORITE! The only thing that has been stopping me is the cabrio top in the fierce wintertime weather. However, I talked to Jim at Dreyer & Reinbold on Wednesday and he explained to me quite a bit about the durability of the top. He said that the seals are manufactured really well so as to prevent any draft from coming into the car. He also said that last winter their convertibles all held up through the snow storms because they have a "four season" roof - apparrently a roof designed to withstand snow and ice unlike many other convertibles out there that need a "hard top" as soon as winter comes - which is reassurring.

So it seems that I will be ready to place my order at the early part of next week. I am SO EXCITED! I'll keep you posted with all of my final specs.

Welcome Cinnamon_Girl!! So glad you're off to a good start...sounds like you've tackled a few of the big decisions already. It is an adventure, but in the end you'll love your MINI more than one is prepared to admit in most social settings (you can ooh & aah all you want here though!).

So glad the sales staff at D&R continue to be good to work with! I bought my MCS back in '02 and those MA's gone. I do stop in when in Indy just to see what's up... Don't plan to trade in my MINI for a newer... I just love it too much!

I am 100% confident that if you stopped in on a Saturday they would do the free carwash and a Free Pepsi / Coke thing!

Hey Dr Diff! Your delivery date should be coming up soon, right? Will you have your MINI before Christmas? What a great Christmas present! I'm not scheduled to pick up until mid-January. I'm SOOO excited, but the anticipation is killing me! I keep calling D&R for updates. I'm sure they are sick of me by now but everyone is very patient and nice. But I am just so excited! Keep me posted!
