If you happen to be a fan of the Sci Fi series "FireFly", then you know that the movie "Serenity" is premiering on Friday night.

A friend and I are putting together a dinner and a movie plan for the premiere... We are planning to go to the movie at Phillips Place in SouthPark around 7pm (the showtimes for that theater are not posted as of this note) and then dinner at the Cheesecake Factory at the mall afterwards to discuss the movie.

My friend is a member of the Charlotte Outdoor Adventures (CHOA) club and some folks from that group are coming, so I thought I'd see if there are any MINI folks who'd like to join us for dinner and a movie (well, movie then a dinner ).

I'll post details once the movie times are posted if anyone is interested.

The movie is playing at Phillips Place at 7:10 pm

the Running time is 2 hours.

That makes dinner at 9:30 (ish).

UPDATE 2:

OK, the cheesecake factory folks say that they don't take reservations and that at 9:30 there would be about an hour wait so we have reservations at PF Changs instead.

 

I'd join you but, with work, I'd never make it to Charlotte on time. I'm not a major Firefly fan, but the Serenity previews looked interesting.

 

Never missed an episode of the series and was totally bummed when it was cancelled. Idiots!

 

My MINI driving other half seems to love the show. I haven't seem it yet :hides in shame:

Would be great to join you but work and distance don't compute! So sorry because I loved the show, hated that it was cancelled, and psyched that the movie was being made. Maybe the movie ratings could prompt the return of the series???

 

I've seen the show a few times, some of my friends tried to get me into it, I must say its one of the better series I've seen in a loooong time

Well, it seems that the answer is yes, FireFly fans do drive MINIs - but not too many of them drive them close enough to Charlotte to make a Friday night movie.

The offer's still open to anyone who can make it. Looks like there will be 7 people so far.

 

Another Firefly fan here, but not close enough to drive down and join you guys. But I will be in line here to see if locally.

Not sure what the ticket situation will be like.

The first showing @ 8:55 sold out so they added a 2nd screen.
I hope this film does well so they can start a franchise.
