16x7.5" SSR Comp Khumo V-710 fitment question

Hi - Thanks for your answers/input in advance, and accept apologies in the event this question has been answered in specific previously.

My 05 MCS is currently running 215/40-16" Khumo V-710's on 16x6.5" SSR Comp wheels (+44mm offset).

The car has H-Sport lowering springs, stock struts, and Camber plates in front & Endlinks in the rear allowing me to run 2.2 & 1.5 neg camber respectively. I have no rubbing or other fitment issues at present.

I have the 6.5" wheels as I started out in STOCK Solo 2 class- but now that I am out of stock class, I want to run the SSR Comps in the 16x7.5" (+42mm offset) size with the SAME 215/40-16 tires.

Given my setup, and this relatively minor change (only changing wheel width, not tire size) will I have any fitment problems? Seems section width may increase by as much as .5" due to the better fit of tire to this wheel.

To save anybody who might reply's time, -and this said with all due respect to the community - I am not asking for opinions on the wisdom of the change - just as to the fitment issues, if any, I may (or not) have with this specific setup -

THANKS for any replies! - as my children call me - "V.V.D."

BTW- the 16x6.5" (8 Auto-X's total use - in Anthracite) SSR Comps will be FS very soon!

First off, I don't know.

I run 225/50/15's on 7" Kosei K-1's and get some mild rubbing. I would guess that you'd be ok as long as you stick with 205's.

I ran 215/45-16 Azenis (pretty wide 215s, and taller than your tires) on 16x7.5 Kosei K1-R wheels for a couple seasons with a lowered car (coilovers) and very similar camber settings. Never rubbed at all. You should be fine.

I currently have 16x7.5 SSR Comps with Hankook Z212's with 225/45/16. No rubbing, you'll be OK.

Craig,

What is the offset on the SSR's? I plan on putting Hoosier rain tires on my street x-lites and am looking for a wider street wheel/tire setup. I didn't think 225 would fit without rubbing but it obviously does. Where is the clearance the closest? I may try and get some 16x8 wheels with the 225 hankooks if I can find some reasonably priced 8" wide wheels.

The Tirerack web site lists the SSR as ET +42. A while ago I asked Alex @ tirerack whether 225/45-16 would rub on a non-lowered MINI with Kosei K1 16x7.5 (ET +43), and he says yes it would rub, 225 are too wide. Would the 1mm additional offset of the K1 make that much difference?
