Stupid question about snow tires.

Really stupid. Can you mount snow tires only on the front wheels and keep your all-season radials on the back or do you need four snows?

My understanding is that you should use all 4 snows. Mixing is unsafe.

If you do that, once you go on snow, your front tires will have more grip than the rear, and you'll fishtail and spin.

Or, in the dry, your rear tires will grip better than the front, and your front tires will scrub and your car will understeer.

DON'T DO IT!
