I am new to the board and a brand new Mini owner. I have a question on the factory NAV system that I hope you can answer. I want to view the map on my NAV system but it seems to only show the same position on the map. Even when I am driving the map continues to be fixed on the same address. I have deleted all the previous addresses, and even removed and reinserted the DVD but it always shows me the same fixed position. Anyone know what is going on? I am somewhat knowledgable of this system as I had it on a previous BMW but I just can't seem to figure this out.

[font='Times New Roman']How long have you had your Mini? I had mine shipped from Germany to Hawaii and it took about a week of normal driving for the GPS to pick up on the satellites in this area. There was a rotating globe on the nav screen while it was searching. Once the satellites were found the system has worked flawlessly.[/font]

 

It finally started to work after a couple of days. Kinda of strange but at least it is working now.

 

As MGMRAM said it sounds like your NAV system didn't have a solid lock on the satellites. Once that happens, the map will snap to the proper location. Glad it is working for you know, but remember that it could happen again.
