Interior/Exterior a/c vemt gauge install
a/c vent gauge install
Does anyone know where i can find instructions to install a gauge in the a/c vent by the speedo? I would like to install the defi bf boost gauge in one of the a/c vents and would like to know what others have done to get it installed.

Here's my thread on what I did in one evening after work completely unplanned.
Lemme know if you have any questions. I used an angle ring...Have yet to take some final pics......

Does anyone know where I can get the peice needed for this install with out modifying the vent peice so I can keep it if in the future need to bring it back to stock? Something similar if not the same thing offered in the kit that is sold on outmotoring.com?

Just get an autometer angle ring. 2 5/8". You can return to stock with that.
Btw Outmotoring evidently does not include the wedge piece with their kit.
Not 100% but that's what my friend was told when he inquired about purchasing just that part....

So all i need is this peice and I can install a 2 5/8 guage in the a/c vent with out any other modifications? What do I have to take out for the a/c vent and what do I keep? In other words, how did you get the ring to stay onto the dash since you removed the vent peice? The ring attaches to the vent peice if i am not mistaken.

Should read my link

But it's pretty basic. The vent has three pieces. The outer silver ring (which you keep), the fan (which you remove), and the piece that holds the fan (which you keep).
You'll need double sided sticky tape and depending on its width, you might need to put a piece here and a piece there to figure out how to keep the ring from popping out.

I did read your post. Just did not know what peices you actually kept. So you do need the angle ring to fill in most of the space and goes inside the where the fan peice was? Is taking off the fan peice hard to do? I took it all out, but was not completely sure how to take the fan portion out.
Thanks for the tips!

Just be patient when taking out the fan. It ain't rocket science! All you need is to pry off one tab ( I think there are two) and I mean GENTLY and the fan just falls right out....
2 5/8" will NOT fill the space by itself...so yes, you need the angle ring to fill the space and also to point the gauge towards you. It took a bit of fiddling but now it's in there and it ain't going anywhere. Be sure to fill up your vent with foam to push the airflow to the other vents.
You're welcome.
