Durability of seat adjusting mechanisms?

My wife and I are planning to both use our new MC as our daily driver. She works days, I work nights. A question that just hit me is, will the seats wear out prematurely because they will be adjusted to different positions for height, fore/aft, and reclining twice a day, every day? I'm 6'1", and my wife is 5'1", and I need the seat all the way back and prefer the seat to be down as far as possible. My wife needs the seat up farther and prefers to have the seat cushion up as far as possible, and usually likes a little more upright seating position too. Are we going to wear out our sport seats in a year or two doing this dance every day? The tilt steering will will probably moved daily as well.

The seat mechanism should be fine, and unless you want to carry a phone book for the wife, you don't have many options.

'twould be nice to have a memory setting - my wife, while not short, likes to tempt fate and drive with the steering wheel in her sternum.

The MINI seat adjustment mechanism is a RPA. I REALLY wish changing the height of the seat didn't also change the rake. It's nearly impossible to get it 'just right' after someone else has adjusted it, IMO.

Thanks. They way I look at it I can live with her settings for height and recline, but because of my long legs, the fore/aft position is one thing that will have to change daily. I need to have the seat lower for racing so my helmet will clear the roof, but for daily driving I'm sure we can reach a compromise.

I've seen a few newer cars that have user definable presets for seat, steering wheel, and pedal position, and even stereo presets, based on whose key fob unlocks the door. We may have to look at something like that for our next car.

I have a friend who worked for an automotive seat company and here is his advice to me: "Make sure when you change possition that you pull the lever all the way so the gears in the seat do not grind. He said most modorn seats will last forever unless you are constantly scraping the gears." Of course he said this all while he was moving my seat in every known direction and scraping the gears
