Am I alone?

Whenever I pass by a Hummer I smile and stick my tongue out at them. I've seen a few brake lights in my rear view mirror, lol...

I am afraid so...you are alone in this world of SUV's and big trucks with big engines with SMALL gas mileage!

NO YOUR NOT I do it everytime I am at the PUMP!

I tend to keep my distain for these rediculously huge vehicles to myself. I motor around my neighborhood quite a bit...open gestures of disdain could easily come back on you around here. One particular Hummer I see is owned by a guy who frequently shows up at my favorite restaurant w/ his family. While I can't stand the car...if that's indeed what it is (the word monstrosity comes to mind)...I don't have anything against him personally.

I think it's best that we giggle about the behemoths here on-site, but take care to respect them in the "real" world. You never know how difficult it may be for them to save face, right now, with gas prices skyrocketing! We know they made a big boo-boo. Most of them will admit it to themselves soon enough!

As I was leaving a Mini dealer the other day, a couple were talking about how the Mini they just purchased matched their new Hummer. Hmm, I was searching for a wise *** remark, but could only stare in disbelief.

Sticking your tongue out at them?! Absolutely funny! There's not enough sticking-your-tongue-out going on! See now, Clover warns against getting someone angry, and I agree... but sticking your tongue out is not going to cause anger, is it? Nah, it's too hilarious!

No! I meant that we shouldn't embarrass them! (Of course, that may be moot.)

The angry part is certainly to be avoided here in Los Angeles, but my point was they'll probably regret their purchase if gas prices remain high.

As gasoline prices increase, I find more and more people are coming up to me and asking what kind of gas mileage I am getting... I guess more than just Hummer owners are taking another look at what they are driving...

I thought the same thing too at first then realized he meant they were going in the opposite direction (at least I hope they were).

Ditto. I stick to non expressive responses. 'sticking your tongue out' is either really funny or really juvenile. I don't need to be that funny. It's possible they actually pull something with it (though highly unlikey.) I had a roomie with a suburban - he drove it to work (4 miles) every day. But on the weekend, he towed his boat (and me! ) to the lake for skiiing. Sure, you could say "what an idiot", but while while buying a small car for a short commute might SEEM reasonable, it's not even close to cost effective.
On the positive side, I thank them for paying an inordinant amount of gas and registration taxes!

I tried doing that, but all I saw was their door and my car was
too short, so could not give the guy the birdie....

You also have to remember that gas prices do not affect everyone. That guy driving around in the Hummer may have an annual salary or $200K and $3/gallon of gas doesn't faze him. Now, i wonder what he is thinking of you when you stick your tongue out at him???

Just because someone has cash to burn doesn't mean he/she doesn't deserve to be made fun of. Someone's wallet has never impressed me, only actions do that for me.
Cheers,

I guess I am always hoping that MINI folk will be good motorers and make us all proud by their behavior. To me, encouraging road rage or bad vibes just doesn't cut it.

I bet over 90% are wannabie's... they are probably cancelling their trip to Starbucks to feed their truck.

Some people have the need to carry more than just 3 passengers and a few grocery bags. I have four kids and there are limited vehicle options to carry the whole family and enough stuff for a vacation. If I drive my family of six in a vehicle that gets 12 miles per gallon I am less of a gluten than 3 MCS’s with 2 people in each car. I don’t understand all the resentment for SUV’s, like the ELF idiots that burned all the new Hummers in LA

By the way my other car is a mini van not an SUV.

Sorry to say this here but the H1 is still on my list of desired vehicles if I win the lottery. Of course, I'll need it to haul building materials to the site of my dream home so I guess it could be okay, right? Who am I kidding?! If I win the lottery I won't care what anyone thinks anymore than I do now! I bought this thing because it was fun and I could justify it w/ the wife because of the milage and lower payments. I wish sometimes I still had my Dodge 4x4! Of course it's usually when people are blocking the intersection or running the red light and I'm dreaming it had a piece of 1/4" steel plate welded to the front!

There was a great website that had nothing but pictures from camera phones of people flipping off H2's as they drove by. I can't find the link right now, but I'm at the office and I think it was something like fu**youH2.com... probably not the best for corporate surfing...

I think he meant he met them going the opposite direction and saw their brake lights after they had passed one another. Oops, already posted.

High prices and Starbucks WOW talk about high prices for coffee

And look at what people pay for WATER

But gas is a must have item and the price will never come back to where it should be. Make it $5.00 a gallon and then $4.49 will seem like a bargin.
