Windshield question

Well, it's finally happened, yet another broken windshield for me. This is the second windshield in the last 2 years, but the first for the Mini. I just have the worst luck with these things! Has anybody around town had their windshield replaced? I need some recomendations.

Thanks,
David

IN May right after the Dragon.

Yep I had mine done, In Nashville, and now I got another chip in it already, but had this one repaired next day at Xpress Lube.
I got factory glass put back in it. Don't know if the other is good or not, so I went back with the same.

Yes, I have had my windshield replaced here in town. I can get you the name of the place tomorrow.

If you do not have the rain sensing wipers, you can get the aftermarket PPG glass which is very highly thought of around here, especially among the people who have had several of the crummy original windshields suffer stress fractures.

I believe my local installation of the PPG glass including replacement trim pieces from MINI only cost about $250. Global Imports in Atlanta who refused to honor my warranty for the stress fractured windshield wanted to charge me over $750!

Thanks guys! Yucca, I would like to have the name of the place that you had yours done. The crack has been running continually every day and is about 12 inches long now.

I had two rock pits in mine and one appeared to "star" some so I called my insurance guy to see who he would recommend. He said Cassidy and Self. THey came to my home and repaired the pits in the driveway. Then, as he was writing up the ticket for the work and went to get the VIN number he told me the windshield was cracked there as well. I called MINI of Nashville and they replaced mine under warranty when I went in for the 10,000 mile oil change. Including the ride, I was in and out in 9 hours.
