California Autumn Classic 10/15 - 10/16
Please join REME and MOASF attending the 2005 13th Annual Autumn Classic Car Show in beautiful and historic San Juan Bautista (only 30 minutes south of San Jose). Lets have a huge MINI-Mini showing! Refer to http://www.autumnclassic.100mregistry.com to register and for additional information.
This event has historically been for 1950's & 1960's classic British 2-seater sports cars only, but beginning last year, they invited both classic Minis and new MINIs. I talked to the organizer yesterday and he really would like to see a big Mini-MINI turnout. I attended last year and it was one of the most fun car events I have participated in.

If there are enough REME members attending, we will organize meeting locations to caravan to San Juan Bautista and coordinate accomodations.

REME First Anniversary Dinner
Okay, this is our current plan: Since many members will be returning home from San Juan Bautista Sunday afternoon at about 4pm from the October 15th-16th car show and many other members can meet us easily in the City, we will have a club dinner (anniversary dinner) in San Francisco at 5:30pm. Because it will be on a Sunday night after a long weekend, we should plan on the dinner not lasting past 8pm.
Although the restaurant has not been selected yet, please sign up on our club at calendar at: http://www.redwoodempiremini.com/mbb...=2005&month=10 if you are planning on attending. It won't be fancy; either a diner, pub, or pizza parlor. If any SF residents have a suggestion, please post it on this thread or on the REME MegaBBS.

San Juan Bautista October Run & Car Show
There's still time to register, but not for too much longer (Registeration cut-off date October 7th). If you are attending both days than hotel reservations may be required.
This is one of the most fun all-British classic car shows and runs in Northern California. Saturday is the run and dinner. Sunday is the show, filling the streets of San Juan Bautista. MINIs are warmly invited.

Thank you to all REME members who attended the California Autumn Classic run and car show over the weekend. I think there were 10-12 MINIs represented on Saturday on the run. That evening 60 participants shared a wonderful Chinese 6 course meal in a local restaurant.
Sunday we had 9 MINIs and 1 classic Mini showing on the downtown streets of San Juan Bautista. As expected, the classic Mini took best of class, but Peg in her zebra striped Mini brought in a solid second place. Congratulations Peg!
We met a lot of nice people over the weekend and look forward to seeing them on future events.
