What better way to get the summer rolling then with a little get together with a bunch of MINI friends! I'm thinking a drive and then hanging at our place afterwards for a little sustenance and MINI fellowship. If it's like last time the ladies will be in the kitchen and the guys in the garage, but we'll try to change that this time!

Location: Asheville Area
Time: Meet at 11:30ish and Roll at 12:00

I'm planning to head down to the Lake Lure/Bat Cave area and then take some back roads over to the Old Fort/Marion area, up Hwy 80 to the Blue Ridge Parkway then back to our place. I think it should be around 2.5 to 3 hours of twisties including the rest stops. Once I finalize the route and run it I'll have a better idea of the time.

When I hatched this plan I was wondering how to make this event even more fun and as fate would have it, as I sat and pondered, my gaze fell upon the open closet and there it was! An awesome looking, genuine man-made silk, 100% "you're not going to buy that" tacky Camp Shirt!

So there you have it! A theme for the event, Tropical MINIs! Wear your most outlandish tropical get-up, or your normal tropical threads and come have a blast!

I'll need a hard number of folks coming so that we can be prepared, I ask that only M2C2 Club Members attend (what better reason to join now) and if you could, to bring what you plan to drink. We will have our normal assortment.

Chris, glad to see this run and get together. Having been on them I can testify that those are some fun roads to drive. Unless something unforeseen happens, count me in on this one.

MAXX is scheduled to go into the shop on the 22nd. so the 20th may be a good time to get a good long ride in to hold me over.
consider me a tenative for now, I'll firm up as it gets closer (and we figure out a babysitter)

My ride was re-assembled today with a new computer, ignition switch and engine wiring harness. Brent drove it home this evening for a test drive, and hopefully, will have no problems driving it back in the morning. He still swears it was struck by lightning, and I still swear it wasn't..
Then I get to have fun again..
Driving the truck just isn't the same...

I will be glad to lead the caravan from Charlotte. This will be a great event for some of our new Charlotte members to enjoy a group drive in the mountains.

What a great idea! Tonight I'll put out the word via email to the Greenville chapter and try to get a caravan - or should I say MINI-avan - going from here. I'll be contacting you to determine a meet-up location near Bat Cave.

I drove Oz home from the dealer today, although right now he's part Z3 (I know Debi likes that. His battery died on top of the other problems, and has a temporary one from a Z3 until the MINI ones come back in stock) I'll let you know later about the drive as my confidence builds..

Though I will be stepping off a plane on the 20th I would love to head your way. I will also invite some folks down here that have MINIs but are not yet part of the club so they can see just how much fun we have as a group..

Have you been able to put together a time table yet? If not just let me know and I will see what I can work out for the wife and I to attend....

 

Hey Jack,

I haven't had a chance to drive the route yet, had work today and if I remember correctly we were busy on Saturday too.

I go back on shift starting Monday, so it'll be Friday before I can get the specifics on time and possible meet up spots along the route.

 

Chris, one of our local members will also need some specific information about where to possibly hook-up with the group during the drive. He has to work on that day until maybe 11:30-12 but would like to try to catch up with us somewhere along the way. So, I'll be checking in after Friday for that info. once it's posted. Thanks!
