Mini 250 miles/loaner car 600 miles
My MCSa was towed to service last week with only 250 miles on it. it has been one week already to reprogram the car. I got a loaner car from dealer and I had 600 miles on it already
. hope they can fix my car soon. I was going to driver my mini to Niagara Falls with my gf last week, but we had to cancel the trip(no navi on the loaner)

Problems??
Oh!!........ I thought you had problems!
MB on order, 911 in the garage, Mini in the shop.
Just to help out you can ship your 911 and girlfriend to me and I willl teach her how to drive a stick within 100 miles.
See how helpful this board can be!!

Well, I feel for you. Having a brand new car in the shop that long, esp without solid answers as to why/how long stinks. Mini releasing so many cars that die and have the problems they do is disturbing.
As for the loaner, well, many dealers don't even offer them (mine included, they do for BMWs but not Minis
) so what you got is better then nothing really. I've had all sorts of loaners from BMW in the past though, and when stuck with something I hated (like a big SUV or really crappy econo car) I would request a replacement to be set up when one was available and get it if the car had to be there for an extended time. After all, you just paid for a new car and it is undriveable as the result of a Mini defect, you shouldnt be stuck paying to fill a big gas guzzler if you don't want to, they certainly have other cars at their disposal that would be a more reasonable stand in.
The Nigara thing was up to you and I don't blame you for making whatever choice you are comfortable with. I can understand not wanting to mess around with maps, wanting your GF to drive some (and not wanting her to learn a stick on your car, on a trip). Nigara, like many tourist spots, can be a dangerous place for new cars anyway since the ding/scratch/accident factor is increased when you have such crowded parking, confused travelers (often looking at maps while driving
), lots of kids getting in and out, and a high percentage of rental cars people don't care about. I don't know if I'd want to take any car of mine there during peak season, much less an expensive one.
Anyway, best of luck with the Mini, with hope they will get to the bottom of these problems and really fix all of them.
