International Truck and Mini (jpg warning)

The local dealer brought one by yesterday trying to sell us one. I pulled my mini up next to it and grabbed a couple pictures.

I saw one of those in January at the DC auto show. Those things are HUGE. My question is, Why would anyone need one? Has it come to the point that SUV's aren't big enough? Does the normal everyday Joe/Jane need to be driving around in the front end of an 18 wheeler?

Actually they were trying to sell it to use for a replacement satellite truck. The guy did say he already sold a couple and sounded like they would be city drivers.

My understanding is the guy from MTV's Punked! bought one. Of course I saw him a couple of months later on TV saying something along the lines of: " WTF was I thinking". But for what it's worth, that is biggest, dumbest thing I've ever seen.

You guys may not believe this, but on my way to VEgas last week I pulled up next to a semi (just the truck, not the trailor) and the LENGTH of the semi was THE SAME AS MY MINI. I kid you not. This thing was about 12-15 feet high and 12 feet long. It was the stupidest looking truck I ever saw. I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture. It was quite funny.
