BMC and SCCA Myrtle Beach S.C.

We also encourage all SCCA members to show up at the winery for a brief meeting. We are considering in expanding and creating an SCCA chapter exclusive to the Myrtle Beach Area. This way we will be inclusive of all makes and models in the SCCA. We would focus on having Autocross, Rally, Car show and family events in the Myrtle Beach area.

ATTN: Coastal Carolina Motorsports & Car Enthusiasts

If you live anywhere near the North Carolina or South Carolina coast, and would like to have a greater selection of automotive-related activities to chose from; then plan to join us at La Belle Amie Vineyard on Saturday, 13AUG05, 12:00 noon until 6:00 PM for the great JAZZ Festival and "Car Club" meeting.

First things first: Here's the map link to find the event site:
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=33.852042,-78.686178&spn=0.044889,0.061541&z=3&t=k&hl=en

You can learn more about the Dog Days of August Blues & Jazz Festival by visiting:
http://www.labelleamie.com/

While we started out last year attempting to start an exclusive club designed for all New MINI & Classsic Mini Cooper enthusiasts, we quickly expanded into all British makes and models (hence, the "British Motoring Club").

Most recently, the South Carolina Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCR-SCCA) has invited us to form a "lowcountry" chapter to fill a void in their national network of local clubs. SCCA is a great organization, offering something for everyone.

You can learn more about the SCR-SCCA by visiting:
http://www.scr-scca.com/modules/news/

However, you can learn a WHOLE LOT MORE about everything mentioned above (and MORE) by planning to attend the 13AUG05 event @ La Belle Amie Vineyard.

Fine food, wine, live music, exotic sports cars, and even more exotic PEOPLE will be there. 'What a combination!

Chuck (manager of the vineyard) has a special paddock reserved for all sports cars, so show up a little early and/or let the parking lot attendant know that you are with the "Car Club" (name yet-to-be-determined).

Please share this announcement with fellow motorsports and sports car enthusiasts. We really need to attract as many prospective members as possible to get our organization up and running!

E-mail Derek (LawBench191@aol.com) or me (GLipscomb@sc.rr.com) with any questions, comments, or suggestions.

Winery and Autocross Double Whamy!

On Sunday August 14th 2005 the NC region SCCA is having the Cape Fear Grand Prix Autocross inWilmington N.C. This is just about an hour away from the winery event at North Myrtle Beach the following day. What a great weekend to enjoy Wine and Jazz on Saturday, then drive the following day to Wilmington to watch or drive in some great autocross. I look forward to seeing a good crowd at both events. If you would like to know more information about both events you can email me at Lawbench191@aol.com Derek Blanton

Hey Bob glad you are coming up.Ill be their at 1100am. Ill be looking for your MCS. Later around 5pm we are talking of getting those Mini owners that want to cruise Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach from 82nd Ave. N. all the way to the former MB air force base. After that maybe we could head up 17 bypass to Coastal Grande Mall where we could all have dinner together at Sticky fingers, Logans Roadhose, or Longhorns Steak house.Ill get Aquasar to help me on this. Sorry to be a last minute flake out, but I just found out my part timer might not make it in on time tomorrow. Looks like I'll be stuck around the store. I'll try to catch up with you guys next time around.

Hey Bob we will miss you but I understand. You got to run a business. Greg Lipscomb and myself will be running our Mini's in Wilmington Sunday at Cape Fear community college of front street at an NCR SCCA Autocross. The first cars will be out running at 10:30. Come down and watch the show if you get a chance. I just got my new Toyo T-1-R proxes tires and they run so much better than those run flats. Take care Bob and have a great weekend.

Thanks to all those Mini people who came out. We had lots of fun. The autocross the next day in Wilmington was great with Greg Lipscomb winning two trophys for best Pax time overall of all the cars and for winning G-stock with his Cooper "S". I also won my first trophy since beginning SCCA autocross for third place in H-stock. Look forward soon for a new name of our group and some more events in Myrtle Beach. Derek
