Armrests

Can anybody tell me if the armrests are now available at the dealers for purchase? I want one for my 2002 MC and 2005 MCS Cabrio delivered in September of 2004. I have been waiting patiently.

Yup! They should have them in stock, or if not, they can order it.

If you want the new armrest thats in the 2005 cars consider its a great armrest. But its horrible when it comes to the rear cupholder. It makes it almost unusable.

From motoringfile.com (it's what I used)

Parts Information:
Center Armrest, Silver: 51 16 0 398 630 $250.00
Center Armrest, Anthracite: 51 16 0 398 467 $250.00

Additional Parts required for retrofit:
E-Brake Console
Convertible 51 16 6 958 577 $$53.25
Hardtop 51 16 6 958 575 $45.26

The '05 shouldn't need the E-Brake console, but the '02 will.

And remember to ask for the printed instructions! Or, I can dig up my PDF. Good luck!

I'm sorry, I must be missing something. I think I included a few pics with the outer console cover removed.

When you say "inside the console," what do you mean? The section inside the armrest itself?

Well, as my armrest kit is already gone, I can't offer any new pics.

However, there were/are a couple on motoringfile's article about the kit:
http://www.motoringfile.com/2005/06/...mrest_retrofit

Hope that helps!

Best,
DW
