Shifting Question

How does one make a smooth, quick 1-2 shift at the redline? Or is it not supposed to be smooth?

Should be fairly smooth. It all depends how fast/smooth you release the clutch. Today I was having fun with my '05 MCS and the shifts in the upper RPM range were surprinsingly fluid and smooth.

Don't use the clutch.

From take offs, first to second gear is the only time i wind it up to 4500-5000 rpms... i let off the gas for a second and THEN shift. Don't know what good it does, but i somehow get it alot smoother.

I can do smooth shifts from 1-2 at WOT but the trick is to know the
right amount of time to wait for the flywheel to spin down.

It's about a 1.75sec pause before you mash the gas and clutch-out
quickly into 2nd. There is no jolt...

but if you're drag racing (at the track ofcourse...), I would just
power shift into 2nd and enjoy the crispy chirp.

That doesn't damage the transmission?
