Actually, those doors may be the answer for the folks up north that have problems with so called frozen doors that are hard to open.

I had to replace my driver side window motor when it went out, but heck if I would have that car I could have just raised the door at my local drive in, made my order and been on my way

Well, if you're looking to go ALL...THE...WAY..., then this is just one of the many mods along the way. Just proves that modding is a slippery slope...

I want lambo doors for the sheer fact that the passengers would have to pull down on the handle rather than push the door shut with their hand and put their GREASY FINGER PRINTS ALL OVER MY PAINT

I actually was considering this. I did some research and found out you do not want to use a cheap universal bolt-on kit like Decah. The hinges snap right off in everyday use. I ordered a set of hinges from GT Factory which are welded on to the frame of the car, and swing out a bit further so
you don't need to twist your back out of shape getting in and out of your car. These are "guaranteed to fit any car except a VW ". Well - I must admit that they were certainly a sturdy, quality set of hinges. But they now had to modify their ad to read "Guaranteed to fit any car except a VW and a MINI". Yep - too big (unless you wanted to remove your hood hinges).

There is a kit made specifically for a MINI by a company in UK:
http://www.lambodoors.co.uk/

Expensive, and I didn't want to mess around with the shipping, etc especially if I didn't like them and had to return them.
There is a good set of "how to" pictures on the site.
