Detailing in the Heat

I am planning going to buy Zaino's Starter package. I live in Phoenix. Does anyone have any comments about detailing in summer heat (right now it's average 110 degrees plus). I do have a garage, but it is still quite warm in the garage, even at night (probably 90+) . Are there any ill effects from waxing in the heat??

Waterspots from sweat are a booger. Other than that, heat has no ill effect on the Zaino method, in fact, the hot dry air will let you slap down a coat in 15-30 minutes.

It's been hot here lately, but the temp. does not seem to be an issue, as long as you are in the shade.

If you are using Zaino in the heat, it is even more important to make your coat as thin as possible. My first few coats were too thick and took a lot of Z6 and a stiffer microfiber than I usually use for buffing to get the haze off after the Zaino dried.

You will also have to use more Z6 (quick detail spray) as it will evaporate more on contact and it is important to have enough lube on the surface of the paint when you QD to float any contaminants (dust, dirt, bug guts, etc).

In our Texas dry summers, I've found that I'm using my Oxo Car Duster even more and washing less frequently... A quick dusting every other day when I get home during dry weeks and I'm good for a couple weeks!

It's humidity, not heat, that will make detailing most difficult! Takes longer for your application to dry before you can polish it off. That's why a thin layer is advised.

My first Zaino coats were done in very similar heat as we have here today. It was 2 years ago almost to the day.

The only problem I had was keeping the clay from sticking everywhere

If all possible, try to do your detailing in the shade. Your car and your skin will thank you for it

I live in Phoenix, too. Even in the garage, it's unbelievably hot. Wear a wet towel over your head and use a fan. I haven't had problems with my vinyl conditioner drying though.
