MINICCI: 7/24/05 Sunday Drive
MINICCI: 7/24/05 Sunday Drive
We will have a Sunday drive on July 24th. I will update the info on MINICCI.org and post it here as soon as Tom gets back from finishing the route!

Most excellent. I spoke to the wife and the N.W. Indiana contingent will be driving down for the ride. We had such a good time meeting all of you at the F1 race (MINI stuff being the bright spot of that weekend!) that we want to join you for more. So expect us there.

Ok, here is the info for the Sunday drive:
Starting at Hummel Park in Plainfield 10AM (we will probalby head out about 10:30)
Pit stop around Gosport
Ending Cataract Falls
Bring a picnic if you'd like and we can eat by the falls. The bad news is that the gate is open since it is not off season and there is a $4.00/per car charge. It is just a few miles to get to I-70 since we will be just South of Cloverdale.
The roads we will be on are really good. Most of them have been recently paved and there are NO gravel roads!
Look forward to seeing everyone since we didn't have a drive last month!

Please note: If you go by the map that is linked to the MINICCI.org site it looks like you should take Reeves Rd to Center St. You will not be able to take Reeves as it is closed. Here is the best route from I-70:
SR 267 North to the first light (Hadley Rd), turn left onto Hadley, take it to the first stop sign (Center St.), turn right onto Center St. Hummel park will be about 1/2 mile on the left.
If anyone has questions just email or PM me.

And it was great to be seen!
The day was great becuase of an excellent route with plenty of twisties, a chance to test the ABS
, and only a small amount of throwing up.
We'll be back for many more events. You folks know how to have a good time!
Mike & Deb.
P.S. Cheryl, it was 101F when we got home.

Add my thanks to the list. Tom and Cheryl, you did a great job setting this up. It was a good drive. Greg is on Denise's hit list for advising it would be a calm route. And only one close pile-up. Those sudden stops after a blind curve are murder. Thanks again for hanging in there on a your very busy weekend. It's appreciated.
Just uploaded my images of the Sunday Drive a minute ago. Here is the link:

Henry, I think Swing wants to know how to save his pics.....and the pics you took on the Sunday drive are great!!
There was a major MINI sighting Sunday! Someone with a CR/W spotted all of us on SR 67!

Ya.... Flickr is annoying that way. It's difficult to save images from there.
If I find a work-around, I'll post it here.
EDIT: The work around is to create a Flickr account.
Not a big deal really and it is a nice place to host a picture gallery. I already had one, but you may need to create one.

BTW, great job Tom & Cheryl. We all had a great time, even Ginger who got stuck driving the van.
