Scraped my Mini :( :( :( :(
Arrghhhhh...I hate my apartment complex's parking structure. They put the big *** support beams way too close to eachother forcing all the cars to park very close to eachother, and to add to that, all the beams are in your blind spot. So every morning I take off to go to work, reverse and head out the gate, so I do that today and I turn to get my car facing the direction of the gate and then all the sudden...SCRAAAACKKKK...I scratch my Mini agaisnt the support. No one to blame but myself really, and luckly it wasnt TOO bad. Got some pretty visable scrape marks along the right front plastic trim above the wheel well, and the front right of my bumper is scratched with yellow paint on it from the support. Its also a little crimpled from the pressure.
So how much would it cost to replace the bumper and trim? Maybe since im replacing it, I could look at some body kits...any good sites/prices?

Hey Avery,
Sorry to hear about your scrapes! The plastic trim above the wheel arches are cheap--around $15 or less. Call Classic MINI of Ohio--one of NAM's vendors for the best prices.
You can probably remove the yellow paint with some claybar and buff the rest out--to atleast minimize the visible damage since the bumper cover is just painted plastic.

Sorry to hear about your incident. I also hate the way condos distribute parking spaces
Anyway, the black plastic wheel arches (Or spats as they are called in England) are fairly cheap. We are talking about $10-$25 tops for a brand new replacement from your MINI dealer. Just and tell them which pieces you need to replace.
As for the bumper paint scrape, there are some "mobile" companies that come to your home or work and perform excellent touch up repairs and bumper scrape restorations, without having to leave the car in a body shop and at the fraction of the cost. I'll look up some for you.

Reminds me of my work's old building... we had support beams and LITERALLY every car that frequently parked under the deck had a scratch on their cars from the beams. It's so far out in the parking space, and the spaces are so close together, it's almost impossible to NOT hit them.... even when you think you know your demensions to a tee. Luckily, i only owned my mini 3 days before we moved out of that building, so i just parked it on the other end of the lot. My thunderbird i hit it pretty good on a beam... my miata was so small i didn't have any problems... but the mini was so new to me, i didn't want to take any chances.
Sorry yours gotta boo boo :( it shouldnt be too hard to fix it up and make it good as new
Those trim pieces are sooo cheap.

sorry to hear of your misfortune, I can definitely sympathize. On the way into work this morning a stupid big rock flew out of nowhere and hit the top corner of my roof and put two nice dings in it. I was soooo steamed.
At least you can replace your wheel arches. good luck.

The front bumper cover is around $280.00 and you need to get it painted, the wheel arches are cheap. You might as well take the opportunity and buy the aero kit, at least the front bumper and the grill
Sorry for the accident, sh... happens.

Good luck with keeping those repairs cheap! Sounds like you've got some great leads already.

I feel your pain. I keep scuffing my rims on our curbs of our company parking lot.
The sad part is...We (civil engineering firm) designed the parking lot with 8' wide spots (minimum) to meet zoning regulations. Then the concrete guys did a sloppy job with the curb so it basically juts out at your rims.

Are the scratches so deep that some wet tire shine can't cover it for the meantime?
Oh and I think you meant "Scratched my MINI" right?
I was worried when I clicked to this thread. I though you were Scrapping your MINI

Until you fix it, you could just make up a story that you were at a track event and this (insert type of cool car here) was slowing you up in the turns, so you had to nudge him out of the way
