R50/53 Automobile gets it right
I just bought that issue at the airport! It's also go the Twelve 12, a collection of twelve supercars that they review. I'm a big fan of Lambo Murcie Roadster (on the cover), so I got it for that as well. They also review the new M6. Overall, a great issue.

I was looking up comparative 0-60 times courtesy of Google, (about 2 weeks ago I found the article, when someone asked me about the MCS):

"For us, the Mini Cooper S is the best of these cars. Completely utilitarian yet utterly stylish, the Mini Cooper S is the most personal expression you can buy for twenty-five grand, especially because its broad range of accessories ensures that no two cars are alike. Meanwhile, it drives like sports cars that are three times more expensive and turns every trip into an adventure."
So true! I always cringe when people talk about the Mini having "style," because I don't want people to think of it as cute. They make a good point about "personal expression," though, and I suppose that is part of what attracted me to it.
Turning every trip into an adventure was a much bigger part - and certainly nothing Automobile compared it to comes close to matching the Mini in either case!

The article isn't online yet, but they did post some pics.

This article confirms what my grinning face radiates everytime I drive my car. This car is so much fun to drive, it is built very well, easy to individualize, and nothing comes close to putting it all together like the Mini.....not even close. Of course, this is "my not so humble opinion"
but shard by many others.
Now if I could just get it out of the shop for this "crank sensor issue"

Okay, it that the '07 MINI? Or another Photoshop job? If it's the real thing I'm not a fan of the lack of integration of the grill and the bumper. If it's not...never mind.
I might as well admit it, after several years of motoring, I'm now totally absorbed with, hooked on, and addicted to MINIs and so am naturally watching for clues to the '07 MINI is w/ great interest, as are the rest of us.
