White bonnet stripes - stained!!

My brand new stripes have a small yellow-ish stain from tree gunk. I went to wipe it off with my detailing spray and noticed that it had stained one spot of my stripes. Is there ANY way to lift the stain off? I thought maybe a little bit of bleach-pen, but I haven't tried it yet..wanted some advice first. I was going to Zaino my car a few times this weekend, so I could prevent this sort of damage, but obviously my luck is really bad right now. :(

Softscrub with bleach. I had terrible grey stains all over my white bonnet stripes and the Softscrub got them all off.

Be careful not to get it on the paint (of course)

I'd try a cleaner wax or a paintwork cleanser before going to the household products. Vinyl is pretty fragile stuff compaired to your Corian countertops...

Actually I did that first. I tried Meguiars paint cleaner #1 & 2, claybar, generic cleaner/wax, 303 cleaner, Simple Green, Orange Blast, etc - basically everything in my 30-year collection of car care products. Nothing made any difference.

Then I moved on to 409, Fantastik and household cleaners and finally hit upon the SoftScrub and it worked like a dream. Again, one must be careful using it, but it's the only thing I found that removed the grey mung from the bonnet stripes. I followed up with a good wax job on the stripes and they looked like new until I got tired of them and removed them.

I would try a shout-wipe first. I'm always amazed what kind of stains it gets out of my super-white navy uniform. Can't change clothes to each lunch or work, so I always carry a batch of shout wipes on me.

Stain disappeared, with help.

Thanks for all the replies.
The stain managed to work itself out after claying, and then a little rubbing with an alcohol wipe. At first, it looked as if nothing was working, but then I noticed the next day that the stain had disappeared. After that I Zaino'd, and will probably do that every week from here on out.

Softscrub with bleach.
Oh, great suggestion.

My white bonnet stripes are stained with little spots everywhere. I will replace them but I'll give this a try first. There in decent shape they just need a good cleaning. Hopefully this will do the trick.

I'll use blue painters tape around the stripes to keep from getting any cleaner on the paint.

The Softscrub worked beautifully. They look nearly new again. I was about ready to replace them, don't need to now. Now, I'm going to order up a pair of matching boot stripes.

The stripes on my Cabrio were getting worse and worse - to the point where I was about to remove them cause they REALLY looked yucky... We tried every tip on cleaning and nothing seemed to get them clean...

Last weekend hubby used Simple Green and then did the Clay Bar thing and they honestly look brand new!!

Magnet - moisture mark. Plus, they look a bit... uneven. Not faded (yet), but not as evenly sheened as, say, my Aesthetic Creations boot stripes.

Maybe I'll just peel off the stock ones and replace them with Mike's.

oh... those magnet ones seems to leave marks. i'd just get a new pair
and put those on. i guess you can try polishing it too before if you're
gonna pull them off anyway.
