How to get gum off pedal?

I got chewing gum on my clutch pedal. Stepped on it somehow and transfered it onto the pedal. Any products or ideas on how to remove it without damaging the rubber on the pedal?

Thanks!

Peanut butter? and then wash the pedal soap and water to remove any of the oil left from the peanut butter?

at least that's what I would try.

How about some WD40 and elbow grease? Remember to protect anything you don't want sprayed first. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies. I will try to get it off as soon as I get off work...
I had heard about peanutbutter to get gum out of hair but didn't even think about it for the pedal. What's in the WD-40 that would remove it?

Spray

I use a freezing spray to get gum out of my carpet in the library. I spray the stuff on and the gum freezes solid. Then I get a screwdriver and pop the gum off (ok, if it was smashed into the carpet I have to turn the screwdriver sideways and scrape a bit.) I don't know where to get the stuff...janitorial supply store? I would think it would work on rubber with nothing left to clean.

Or maybe try wrapping the pedal in a baggie ful of ice. Getting the gum cold will make it less "sticky" and easier to remove.

Here is the product that you need for the job: (Don't kill yourself with dubious remedies)

"GOO GONE"

It safely removes Grease, Stickers, Tar, Gum, Crayon, Tape.

It is sold in a 8FL OZ bottle. The product uses Orange extract.

It is made by Magic American Corporation 1-800-321-6330

You can find it in most stores. I always keep it around the house and has saved me from many messes.

Give it a try!

To get the bulk of the gum off, I'd just hold an ice cube on there for a minute or two and chip it off. GooGone or WD40 sounds like a good next step to remove any residue.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could find the person who dropped it and make them lick it off? Dropped chewing gum is a pet peeve of mine...

3M Adhesive Remover worked well to remove chewing gum from the rubber floor mats and dead pedal in my husband's Cooper. He stepped into what must have been the world's biggest wad of gum as we were leaving a restaurant.

Use it in a well-ventilated space, and wear gloves.

Probably done by now, but
start by removing the pedal pad so it's easy to work on.
