Melindalou and I are having a Meet and Greet in Hickory on 7/19 at 6:30 at Butch's BBQ on hwy 70, directly across from Valley Hills Mall. The purpose is to introduce M2C2 to MINI owners in the surrounding area (Catawba, Burke, Caldwell and Iredel Counties) and hopefully sign up some new members. But anyone is invited. Come on out, meet some fellow MINIacs, eat some REALLY good BBQ and have a good time. We will have applications there to sign up those who want to join.

To get there, (from points east and west of Hickory) take exit 126 off of I-40 and go to the 2nd traffic light (huge intersection). Get in the right hand lane and turn right onto hwy 70. Butch's BBQ is about 1/4 mile on the right. Look for the MINIs in the parking lot. From the Charlotte/Gastonia area, take US 321 By Pass to Startown Rd. (exit 33) and turn right. Travel about 8-10 miles to hwy 70 (same huge intersection). Turn left and Butch's is about 1/4 mile on the right. (and no Bob, this is NOTHING like the last BBQ place we took you to)

Sorry for the absence, been away and at work (away also) for what seems like the last 2 months.

Anyway back on topic, I'll be off shift that week and need a break, put me down. Maybe I can convince the newest MINI owner in the family to follow me down there?? Who knows :smile:

 

Sounds like a fun night but with it being during the week, I too will be unable to attend. Bummer. I just love MINI parties.

I'm in the same boat as Tweety.. If only I didn't have to work on Tuesday or Wednesday....

It's only about 1:15 from Asheville, depending on which side you're coming from. Certainly should be no more than 1:30. Hope you can make it.

To Everyone Else,

So far, I have George and Chris B. and maybe KBest as planning on coming.(Chris, it's great to hear you're still around!) For other folks who are planning on coming, if you could let me know by Monday of next week, that would be great. Butch's is a relatively small place and they have asked if I could give them an idea of about how many people to expect. They will arrange tables so that we can sit together. Parking should not be a problem. Melinda and I will be there by 6.

Well, it may be 6:15pm before I can get there since I don't close the store til 6pm. I will try to close a little early. We have a few new people coming that haven't attended ANY M2C2 events, so I hope we will have a few members there to tell them what a fabulous & fun group we are! I'm looking forward to seeing some of you guys there!

PS to Tweety's mom-it seems like FOREVER since I've seen you I hope you are okay, and I've missed you Spartanburg/Greenville guys! (I occasionally see Trainman, and I saw Stele & his brother at the Dragon, so that helps!) I haven't gotten any of my friends to agree to host a MINI themed wedding shower yet TM, but I keep hoping! It would be pretty cool to have a MINI contingent at the wedding!

I will be coming from Spartanburg for the dinner, but will be going back to Charlotte near the University area after the dinner. Maybe we can caravan back to Charlotte.

Kids are always welcome. I bring my 12 old son to most MINI outings.

As for the sig, mine was a gift from COOPERation. He's a heck of a guy and puts out a fantastic sig! He's on all the major mini boards, so you should be able to "bump" into him. I think he's done most of the sigs on mini2 and a lot of them here as well.

 

Sounds good. We live close to the University area as well.
