1966 Morris Mini,Special 1000
Reluctingly being forced to sell my baby. It went complete cosmetic restoration last year. When I first got the car, it had new front end parts. The car is an original California import LHD from Belgium. It went from here to Louisville Kentucky where it got its rust, and from there it came back to Waco, Texas where I picked it up. The car has five minlights with ten inch tires.

Oh my! Very nice. ....I just don't see the wifee allowing me to have 3 cars while she still drives a Saturn with 119K miles..... (...but it is her choice to continue driving it....)

wouldn't a 66 be a MK1? Isn't that a later grill and tail lites....
just wondering cuz I have the opposite. MK3 shell with older parts to make it look Mk1.
Door hinges and sliding windows are Mk 1 but wondering about the other stuff. Seems like more folks would try to make a later look older than the reverse.... Just curious, or am I wrong in my belief that the angular grill vs round and rectngular tail lites are typically from a later.
Either way - nice car .. helps me build a cost basis for mine :-)

OK, I see I have finally learned the differences between the MK1 and MK2
for those as foolish as I: it appears that
MK1 = round grill, round tail lites, sliding windows/outside hinges
MK2 = angled grill, squared tail lites, sliding win' outside hinge
MK3 = roll up windows and hidden hinges
question 1 - what year marked the changes?
question 2 - what changed for MK4?
question 3 - was MK4 the last?
my lesson courtesy of the Aug issue of MiniWorld that just happened to arrive today and has a nice, and clearly identified MK2, as a feature car.
and a nice spread about Sunshine Minis .... congrats guys, love your t-shirts. I'll be inquiring about your grill badge!
