can you buy the interior pieces separately?

so, i found out my car came in about a month earlier than expected. i went to look at it today and they screwed up. i had ordered the car with the orange and blue seats with the orange interior pieces. instead it came with the right seats, but with the silver interior.

the sales manager said he will have to order another convertible with the orange interior and swap them out, but that there may be a problem because i've got an '05 and he won't know if the '06 parts will fit. also, i'm going to have to wait until the fall when they come out to find out.

grrr... i'm so pissed. i hate waiting 2 months for a car and find out they screwed it up.

The dealer /can/ order all of the parts.

For example, for my '03, here's the dash:

To find the right parts for your car start here. you'll need the last 7 digits of your VIN to make it easier:

As an alternative, you could have them remove the parts and get their body shop to repaint them all the correct color.

Oh. Another tip!

Keep up with any and all ordering paperwork that shows that the orange interior should have been specified.

AND! Right now, get your sales guy AND his manager to give you a written and signed statement to the effect that they DID misorder and that they WILL correct the issue /to your satisfaction/. Once you agree to a correction, get another one laying out what that correction will be!

Assuming you haven't accepted delivery of the car yet, DO NOT ACCEPT IT until you have a letter where they admit fault. You don't need to have come to an agreement on what the correction will be, just make sure the letter says that it must be to your satisfaction.

Otherwise they might 'forget' pretty soon...

...david (I'm not a lawyer, but the above should help you in case they forget)

I'm going to go back there after work to talk to the sales manager. He is the one who admitted to screwing it up and then shared blame with the salesman who did not double-check and correct the order. i spoke to mini usa customer service and the guy i spoke to said this is completely a dealership responsibility.

my salesman is out sick today, but i'll be leaving town for the rest of the week.

I wonder. Hummm.

I wondered what the heck could be ordered and fit into a Cooper... I hate the fact that I didn't get the sport seats and wanted to get ONE to replace the driver's side with the same colors. It's beige and black leather. All the dealer thought he could do was ask me to order a new car. That's nuts. Think it's worth digging the dealer?
