Well.. my MCS has been on the docks in the UK since the 9th of june.
It is booked and recieved and has now been assigned its 3rd boat for transport. They keep sailing without my car... So now its booked on the TRINIDAD and won't get picked up for several days, if it gets picked up at all.
sigh...
This sucks..

 

I'm having a similar problem. I just checked and I'm now on the Trinidad with you.

oh well, have to drool at the keyboard and goof off here for yet another week before I start terrorizing small towns, women and children around my neck of the woods.

 

Living and dying by the Trinidad too! Although mine hit the docks on 6/17 - hopefully the 6/9 does not bode for some missed boats - here's hoping for a Mini party on the Trinidad

 

Mine is now on the Trinidad too. But when I called ASK-MINI they said it shipped on another ship called the Englestadt (sp?). But I didn't see that ship listed on the WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN site.

 

I don't want to raise any hopes, but I had a similar experience when I got my car back in April. The W & W site said it was bumped to a second boat, and I resolved myself to the extra wait. Then my MA called and said it had shipped on the original boat. All through this time there was no tracking info on W & W. But, just as my MA said, it was on the original boat and got to me sooner than I expected. My advice would be to check with your MA if you seem to have been bumped and see if they can clarify things for you.

I'm not doubting you, but how would my salesperson have better info than the Mini 800 number and the shipping company's tracker? Just curious.

Won't the dealership get annoyed if I call with questions like this? I'm guessing they don't need to hear from me unless my promised July 31 delivery date has passed.

 

Do any veterans of Mini delivery know if it is common that cars miss several boats that they are booked on?

 

OK... I called ASK-MINI this morning to get a status from them. According to them, the car left port on the 16th. They did not have any more details on which ship, etc...
So I will try the MA today and see what information they have to offer... Might as well get them to do something for their compensation

 

I called my MA as promised... He told me the car left port on the 16th and is on it voyage to the US.
I was also told it was shipped by K-line (hopefully not operated by K-mart)
and the ship is the Ingolstadt. So this information is totally new and different.

Will try and see if K-line has a tracking facility... Maybe some of you are also on this boat.... If so, my dealer thinks it will be at the dealership around July 6th.

I'm no veteran by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm further along inthe process. My Mini was booked on the Isolde leaving Southampton on Jun 11th, then it got bumped and showed as being booked on the Mignon leaving on the 17th. I called my MA (Julie at Classic) and she said the car actually left Southampton on a K-line ship on June 6th!

My car arrived in Charleston, SC yesterday and should be on it's way to the VDC in Greer, SC.

So, if you car starts getting bumped off of W&W ships, call your MA and you may be presently surprised.

 

I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere, but how long is it currently taking to get though the distribution center?

 

I was told to allow 1 week from dist center to dealer... YMMV

 

Shouldn't a ship called the Ingolstadt only be caryying Audis??? (Ingolstadt is the home of Audi HQ, the Audi Museum, and the main Audi factory)

My MCS set sail on July 18th, but I don't have a vessel name.

 

I hope you mean June 18th, otherwise you've got a longer wait than you think. How did you manage to get shipped so quick after ordering only a few days ago? Get lucky with a car that your dealer had ordered? BTW, got any more track vids of your A4?

I got lucky and found a dealer in Milwaukee (1-2 hours from Chicago) with a Dark Silver / LSD Cooper S en route already. Sales Manager said he ordered it exactly like he'd want one. Same exact options I wanted but without an armrest or anthracite headliner, and it has the Web-Spoke wheels and performanc runflats, which I'll likely take off at the dealer the day it arrives and sell. Now I just need to decide what kind of wheels and tires to buy and have shipped to the dealer!

Here's one more (extremely short) vid of me chasing Skiff down in the 944t. I apexed a little early and put the rear left tire off in the grass (which is wet and slick as monkey snot). I corrected quickly but it was a pucker moment and you can see me and my student look at each other with a "holy *****" look, and then he giggles like a schoolgirl.

I was scheduled on the Trinidad and it sailed today without me. Did anyone else scheduled for the Trinidad miss the boat?

I too was booked on the Trinidad and apparently missed the boat. I think I am on booking #3 or 4. Now looks like I am on the Maersk Teal which does not leave until 6/30 with a 7/13 arrival date.

I called 1-866-askmini and they said they do not much information on shipping, but did say I should be on a boat within 7 days of hitting the dock. I have been on the dock since 6-17.

My problem is the dealer gave me a window of time to sell my old Mini privately and that expired. The old Mini was traded in last weekend. I amon a borrowed vehicle until next Fri and on vacation with family for 2 weeks. I was counting on a new vehicle upon return, but that is not looking good - not sure what to do about transportation in the interim!

According to MA and Mini I should have had my car by Mid July - not looking good at this time

I posted a reply a few minutes ago based on my conversation with Mini yesterday and updates on the shipping company website this morning.

However Ask Mini automated response information indicates I am In Transit and not at the dock....

refer to msg #10 in this thread. You need to call your dealer. They have the correct routing report. Ask-mini can't help you as it is out of their hands.

 

Apparently your dealer is better equipped for answers than mine. Ask Mini was able to tell me that it was shipped out 6-22 and said they could provide no other information on shipping.

My MA could not even tell me whether it was shipped... claims that the system only updates twice a week and they would know when it arrived stateside

I did call my dealer and apparently I know more than they do. They were no help at all.

 

My dealer had their inventory manifest. It showed what inventory was coming in, when it left port and the shipping line and ship. This way they can tell their existing and potential customers whats coming in when.
I'm sure all the dealers get the same information. Some eithr don't know or don't care.

I told my dealer that I talked to BMW. Then I told them that BMW mini told me to get the information from my MA. After I stated that, the MA went and found the report. You have to work at it... Some of you were on the docks the same time as mine... probably on the same one. It will arrive on June 27th at distr.
