High-pitched crickety whirring noise

Hi all,

I have just recently started noticing a "whirring" noise coming from beneath the bonnet. It increases as the engine speed increases, and it really sounds like a faint yet high-pitched cricket. I know it is coming from under the bonnet because when I park I can barely hear it, and when the engine is turned off, it goes away.

My car is an 05 mcs with 6,200 miles on it, could a belt be making a noise already?

Hello,

It sounds like the belt needs replacing, kinda strange though since you have realy low mileage.
I just changed mine at 60,000 miles, MCS too. Take it in and have the dealer change it. Good luck
