Great pics. Do you have any of the interior and of the rollbar. What do they do when it rains with the cars electrical exposed.

rollbar install - http://www.autohausschaefer.de/mini-...rt/aufbau.html

They say there is absolutely no problem with water and the electronics under the hood. They even steam clean all of their engines regularly without any problem.

Is this a German tuner shop? I have no idea who they are. I do know that the EVO ripoff bonnet is ghey though.

Sweet shop for sure. Nice car too.

Yes, its a tuner shop who does a lot of running on the nurburgring. How do you figure it's "ghey"? God forbid someone puts something on their race car out of functionailty instead of aesthetic appeal

race cars=functionailty over form....

Is that an OEM aero kit that has been altered? It seems like the front splitters are a bit bigger....it might actually live up to its name of "aero" now I really like it.

Ghey? No whey is it ghey! I wish it was ghrey, though - that would make my dhey. Okhay. Now that that's out of the whey, I just wanna shey. . .I kinda like it.

Is that shop in Kaiserslautern? The name sounds familiar. . .

I always laugh when people start with looks over function...

It's like those that buy an exhaust for how it sounds, not the power it creates. I've also noticed that if you go for function (power, heat extraction etc) you end up with a pretty mean looking machine!

Ghey, Ghreay, Schmeh, watever. If it makes the car faster, or more reliable in extreme use cases, it works for me!

You guys seriously believe they put that there for functionality only?? If it were strictly functionality based there would have been fins below the grating that directs the air up and out, like a stock EVO's. Instead they choose to have just the grating so you could see through to the engine. Come on.

You dont see that crap on Ferraris and Lambos do you ??

If it was functionality based you would have air vents coming out on the sides and bottom, not out the bonnet where it messes with the aerodynamics.

What ya'll smoking? It's not there just for functionality.
nm eff this EVO wannabe.

Time for some more EVO jokes I think.

Whats blue and orange and has a barbeque on the boonet?

A MeeVo.

No, but I don't often see any front engine, front wheel drive Ferraris or Lambos, either. It's far enough back on the hood that the aerodynamics (such as they are on a MINI) won't be too compromised; you WILL get some additional heat extraction, I think. Of course, without before/after dyno charts, who KNOWS how effective it is? And who really cares? It's a MINI, probably the most easily personalized car since the original Beetle in the 60s. If they like it, who are we to question it??

again...how do you figure?

It certainly will beat your car in any kind of competition

Again, its not made to look like an evo...in case you didnt notice, its a small hatchback, not a bigger car. It doesnt have the very famous EVO spoiler. I'm sure you are talking about the hood vent....but they didnt put it on to look like an EVO...they need to release hot air from the engine bay because they race the car.

PLenty of race cars have vents...

Good call on asking why you dont see HOOD VENTS on rear engined cars....no wonder you dont like it

Nope, it's a whole new kit ... hood, front bumper cover, and side skirts.

Well, this car is known to have faster lap times on the Nürburgring Nordschleife than some of the Porsche GT3's that frequent there, so something works pretty good

rear engine...mid engine. A small syntax mistake compared to asking about the lack of hood vents on those cars

You don't find them on THE HOOD....its usually used where the engine is

so you do see them on those cars...you just have to look in the right place

As follows:
Not a lambo or ferrari, but it is an NSX(same engine placement as the two you listed, and considered a super car by many)

Lambo:

and ferrari...my personal favorite

I was actually referring to front engined Ferraris. I'm still not home yet.

Thanks very pretty

Anyways, i dont get it? Your point was that you dont see them on those cars...but you DO. There are ferraris with big vents on their hood as well. So what is wrong with there being one on a mini? This is the only one by the way....all COOPER S3's have HUGE venting on the front hood.

I can see you not liking that it looks like an EVO...but that makes it "ghey"?

Yeah. It's my word of the day. Ghey - Something created to be cool, but in reality is lame. For example, a Dodge SRT-4, or Pontiac G6. I would say Mitsubishi EVO but we have already gone through that in another thread.

Not to be confused with the literal meaning of the same sounding word "Gay", because no offense intended with regards to "Gays".

btw I now realize that having a bonnet heat sink on a MINI will not affect it's aerodynamics because it practically has none. I just would have preferrred an original, not a botch adaptation from a car that I have little respect for.

Car looks awesome...love the orange wheels! About the bonnet: if its merely for decoration.....yes, ghay. But if it's there for function (I hope this is the case)....then !

Additional heat extraction from a motor that has the potential to run quite hot is hardly "ghey".

Aero issues would appear to be nada, as the mini is a brick anyway.

The design of the venting is similar to the evo, sure. But it's not like the evo invented the style.

I say thumbs up.
