Should be a good amount of Minis running at the State Fair Grounds this Saturday June Fourth. Come on out and run or watch. If you would like to see more information about the event go to WWW.SCR-SCCA.com Derek Blanton

It was great meeting many of you during the past two weeks(15 days actually) of MINI ownership. Derek, Greg and I had a great time driving at this SCR event. I also have to thank Art for all the vendor information he gave me to help my car get cool accesories like his has. On Sunday I headed up to the CCR event in Fort Mill and got to meet Joe and Frank with his very nicely prepped SM MCS(I should have asked to drive it on a fun run). On memorial day weekend I had hiked up to the HSCC even in Maggie valley and met Chris, Trent and Ryan. It was a fun first event for the car.

I'm am having waaaay too much fun driving my MCS. I have put on 1400 miles in the 15 days, including 3 autocrosses.

I'll be up in Laurinburg, NC at the Tarheel Sportscar Club autocross this Sunday if anyone want to join me. More competition is always welcome.

Joe
Guy with the racoon tanned face and the black on black 05 MCS.

LSD Too Tough to Tame

52nd Overall. 24th in PAX time. 'In a field of 100+.

This was my worst finish in years of autoXing in the SWV and SCR regions!

Besides "driver error", I'm blaming my poor performance on brake and tire problems.

I think the 215s would have worked better than the 205/40-16 Azenis I just installed. 'And I discovered that my rear brakes are sticking, overheating, and defeating the ABS. That's why the front always locked-up on the 90-degree right-hander @ the S/F line.

MINI has a brake fix on the way, before the 16JUL05 points event - - but I'm stuck with the same skinny tires (and wide driver).

Derek suffered this past weekend, too. I had brake fade. He had brain fade.

Both were caused by overheating.

But JOE had FUN. That's all that matters.

A bad day of autocrossing is better than a good day at work. So, you both had fun

Autocross June fourth and July 16th Columbia

Hey Joe it was great to meet you and to see your new 05 MCS with the LSD package. Yes though it was probably my worse day as a novice DNFing I had great fun. Its going to be real interesting watching you ,Per,and Greg all competeing in G-stock. Hopefully I will do better in H-stock next time with my new Toyo Proxes T1R tires and not having as many cocktails as I did the night before on June fourth. Its going to be hot again on the 16th I know that. Well I loook forward to seeing all you guys in July. Derek
