I went to Concord and Pleasanton Mini and they both list MSRP plus "market value". What a bunch of cr@p! OK, supply and demand. I just hate it when manufacturers create the demand by undersupplying.

I have an email into Matt there. I will give you the 411 as soon as I hear back from him.

The alternative isn't very far away - just go to South Bay Mini in Torrance. Got the car no muss no fuss at MSRP, even mats thrown in. It's a nice drive back too

A month ago, I testdrove an MCSC in East BAy Mini.. According to them , they don't do any markups...

Oh btw, down south, you can check out Long Beach MINI since they don't also do any markups..

Thanks

When I did price shopping in Jan. all SFBA dealers had mark-ups. The lowest was ~$2K. I ended up buying out of state and saved the $2K plus the sales tax on that $2K.

East Bay Mini sells without a markup but unless they have what you want on the lot, they have a nine month wait.

East Bay (Pleasanton) and South Bay (Torrance) MINI are the only dealerships that I know charging MSRP. Generally there is a longer wait at East Bay MINI.

I just heard back from Matt at EAST BAY MINI. They still sell at MSRP. No mark ups. I expect he will reply here also.

I heard it on the internet so it must be true........check your sources and post carefully.

While a consensus seems to have been met, I can also say that that EBM doesn't do markups. Back in January this year, there was an 11-month wait for an MCS. I, too, ended up buying out of state. MINI of Murray in SLC, UT, and it took only about 3 months from deposit to delievery. No markup, and I didn't end up financing the CA sales tax. I would definitely do this again.

Matt at East Bay wasn't at all surprised when I came in to get my deposit that I had left in January '05. I'm sure that I wasn't the first to put in a deposit at EBM only to retract it and go out of state.

Ah, such is the reality of buying a MINI in Norcal.
