Motoring Music

I'm looking for some music suggestions for the Rally this weekend. What are your all time favo(u)rite driving songs?

I've started a list, but what should be added?

Radar Love - Golden Earring
Jerry was a Racecar Driver - Primus
The Distance - Cake

I have Blur-Song 2 (The Woo Hoo song from the M5 BMW film), U2-Mission Impossible theme, War-Low Rider, Moby-James Bond Theme, Propellerheads-Spybreak!, and Quincy Jones-Self Preservation Society on my motoring CD. Such a great combination

Great suggestions. I'm having trouble finding the U2, Moby, and Quincy Jones songs on iTunes, any idea where I can find them?

Hmmm I can't remember where I got my copies, probably back in the day on napster or something. Did they have any versions of Mission Impossible or James Bond theme?

The following (not in this order):
Ray Anthony -- Peter Gunn Theme (aka Spyhunter Theme) (1959 score)
Nik Kershaw -- The Riddle
Violent Femmes -- Add it Up
Plastic Bertrand -- Ca Plane Pour Moi
David Byrne -- The Great Intoxication (Live)
Talking Heads -- Television Man (extended mix)
Thomas Dolby -- Hyperactive!
Billy Idol -- Sweet Sixteen
Madness -- Michael Caine
Visage -- Fade to Grey
When in Rome -- Promise
John Fogerty -- The Old Man Down the Road
The Verve -- Bittersweet Symphony

That's what's on the latest anyways. I'm in the middle of creating one for a trip to Pennsylvania so it will likely change.

Official Theme Song of the Absorbine_Sr MCS:

Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod.

Tickets incurred while playing this song are the sole responsibility of the driver.

I second "Running Down a Dream" - that's a good one.

Other favorite driving songs of mine:
"Guns of Brixton" by the Clash
"Thursday" by Morphine
"Killing in the Name" by Rage Against The Machine
"Molly's Lips" by Nirvana
"Sketches of Winkle" by Ween
"Green Shirt" by Elvis Costello, because it has a great drum part where you can bang on the steering wheel!

...actually, that whole Rage Against the Machine album, now that I think about it!

"They say jump, you say how high!"

Where's that headbanging smily thing?

MP3 CD's

I know the '05 will play mp3 cd's but what about other models? Not all of the songs will fit on one cd in regular cd format, and I was thinking of making some extra copies to give to people in case I were to ever damage my original I would have a back up.

How about some electronica/Dance music? I love to listen that kind of music when I motoring. It gives me the energy and makes me want to go fast. Here is some classic collection...
DJ Tiësto — Traffic
Motorcycle — As The Rush Comes
Andain — Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dreseden Remix)
Noémi — In My Dreams
Plummet — Damaged
OceanLab — Satellite (Original Above & Beyond Mix)
4 Clubbers — Secrets (Club Mix)

Actually, they are my speeding songs... If you like slower, you may listen...
Robert Miles — Children (Dream Version)
Télépopmusik — Breathe
Niquid — Italian Summer
DJ Cam — Summer In Paris (Featuring Anggun)
The Soulplanet Jazz Ensemble feat. Xavior — Changes (Jazztrumental)

Enjoy! You should be able to find on iTune music store. If you can't, PM me I give to you.

I'm not usually much into the electronica/dance type music, but I did find a few in there I liked, so thanks for the suggestions. I've edited the post above to reflect the new additions.

The Crystal Method

I like all of The Crystal Method Albums. ... and my own stuff of course.
TCM is hard, fat, techno! It thumps the subs! You can hear some of it in the fight scenes in the Blade movies among other places.

I didn't see any suggestions about "Lawrence Walk". Not that there is anything wrong with the late great though. LOL

Sorry to butt into your club, but that's a great lineup! I'd skip the John Mayer though...maybe throw in some Ultravox instead for a good retro effect. And yeah...I was one of those guys that searched Limewire for that ADIDAS song too

I posted this a while ago on the MINI Talk section and only got a moderate response. It looks like you got better here. Anyway, I am not too much into the techno stuff, I'm more of a classic rock guy even though I do have two techno songs on my list. I've been building this list for my first drive home in my soon to be new MINI.

Highway to Hell - AC/DC
Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Little Deuce Coupe - Beach Boys
Holiday - Green Day
Midnight Show - The Killers
Good Times Roll - The Cars
Johnny B. Good - Chuck Berry
Superheros - Daft Punk
Staring at the Sun - The Offspring
Inner Logic - Bad Religion
Imigrant Song - Led Zepplin
Run-Around - Blues Traveler
Hit the Road Jack - Ray Charles
Rockin' Down the Highway - Doobie Brothers
Stiff Upper Lip - AC/DC
Float On - Modest Mouse
Another One Bites the Dust - Queen
Get Back - The Beatles
I Get Around - The Beach Boys
The Empire Strikes First - Bad Religion
The Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring
I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
To Get Down - Timo Maas
