Parade of Florida MINIs in Savannah?
Parade of Florida MINIs in Savannah?
This afternoon in Savannah:
It's a gorgeous day, and we're sitting in the back courtyard, enjoying cold beer and fresh boiled peanuts,
when along comes a parade of MINIs, cruising our square.
It was two IB/W's and a silver cabrio... all with Florida plates. I assume they're on their way back from the Dragon. I hollered "Go MINI's!" and got a head nod from the ragtop... would love to know if those were Dragon-runners.
Anybody recognize that parade? Was it you?
Y'all were lookin' good! Atta way to represent the breed!

That was me! A few of us Sunshine MINIs decided to return home via Savannah. Per Hans & Beckie (leading IB/W), Steve & Nickie (Convertible), and I (IB/W) stopped for a short walking tour and dinner at the Six Pence pub. We're planning to have a Sunshine MINIs meet up there sometime. We all wanted to stay the night, but most had to get back to Florida. I'll post photos soon.

Glad y'all had a safe trip & had fun. Next time you're zipping through Savannah, holler. That one little square you drove around has five MINI's on it!

I'm a born and raised Georgian, I try and make an annual trip to Savannah, my '05 was back in March. While having breakfast at Clary's noticed two MINI's parked...was one of them yours?

Alas, we were in a white Jetta Wagon, returning from my brothers GaTech graduation (in a roundabout fashion. Orlando > Guyton > Augusta > Atlanta > Augusta > Guyton > Orlando...)
My MCS was being driving by my nephew (and still is today) over the weekend. His clutch picked friday morning (when we left) to break on his Sentra... I wasn't going to force him to drive the 45 year old 1 ton IHC..
So funny to be spotted by two NAM members in Savannah! We will definitely give you locals a holler when we plan our Sunshine MINIs meet in Savannah.
Per Hans took a photo of our MINIs in front of a church where we parked. As soon as he posts it, I'll post it here.

Well being a SSM member, I will have to partake of the Savannah trip!
I love Clary's-even before Midnight in the Garden
. It was great to see an S and a Cooper while munching my breakfast, we got a table right at the window
I know it might be a long shot davn8r, but do you happen to know a (forgive me, I don't know all the color differences) Blue/W tooling around your town? While there we played tag all the way down Abercorn towards historic. If so, I was the Black Cabrio

Sorry, Sarah... I'm pretty sure I know which MINI you've described, but I haven't a clue as to which human belongs to it. It's always worth a shot though. (Once I realized that my Dad was my fourth cousin, I decided the world is way too small to not at least try. Heck, that means I'm my own cousin -- and what are the odds of that? And although I haven't actually been in a movie with Kevin Bacon, I was in a movie once, and I did have bacon for breakfast on Saturday. It's a small -- er, I mean MINIature -- world, after all.)
Speaking of breakfast: Clary's is probably a "must do", but next time make sure you hit the Firefly Cafe for breakfast. It's just a couple of blocks away from the spot you ate --and well worth the hunt.

I hear the Mercer House is for sale....Now, if I could just win the lottery....
How cool that you guys spotted us! I've been wanting to get to Savannah for ages, and was glad we finally made it. Too bad it was for such a short time. Next time we plan on staying a bit longer and enjoying the local festivities. Can't wait to go on the pub ghost tour!
We stopped in at Six Pence, and since we still had more hours than I like to think about left on our trip, I wound up drinking sweet tea...sigh. Great little place, but I think I would have enjoyed it even more with a couple Guiness! Next time we'll have to meet you guys for a pub crawl!

We were actually in Savannah for a couple of days before we headed North to the Dragon. We were impressed with the number of MINIs we saw (3-5 around town). I bet River Road is pretty bumpy... we only walked it.
The Hauted Pub Crawl was very cool, BTW.

(The guy in the drop-top may remember me, because he waved and smiled when I hollered "Go MINIs!" as y'all zipped by. On the other hand, at the pace you were keeping, I probably sounded like I said "Yo Jimmeeeeeee!" Oh, well.)
