EBC pads...now squeal!!! Do I require new rotors??
I purchased and installed the EBC Greenstuff Pads on the front of my car since they were in dire need of replacement. Did it, and a week later, i am getting this embarassing squeel from up there. There is a couple of a millimeter deep lip on the edge, and want to know if this is truly a bad thing. And i did load up the proper places with the grease to prevent that, but this is really irritating me.
I am saving up for some powerslot rotors anyways, but has anyone else had this problem or know what causes it and how to fix it. I thought... that as on my father's mercedes, that the rotors needed to be replaced with the pads as they wear fast. I didn't replace the rotors due to lack of funds while in school still, but plan on getting the powerslot rotors soon. It seemed to me that most people swap out the pads and haven't had any problems.
Just curious, and extremely perturbed by that damn squeel!
Anyone care to comment?

I changed my pads to Greens when the car was almost new at 5k. My experience were they got sqeekier, eventually I had to pull the pads out and give them a little sanding as they were glazed over, and gave the rotors a sanding too. Lubed it all up with anti-seize as I put the pads back in. Everything has been fine since.
If your rotors have a lip worn in, could be the problem?!?

If the rotors have a lip on them - they were not turned.
If they were not turend - they have the old transfer film on them.
If there is old tranfer film - this is why your new pads are making noise.
get your old rotors turned, or pick up some powerslots.
