I have yet to hear anyone actually confirm or deny the existance of external inputs on teh back of the stock head unit (Not Upgraded). I KNOW some people out there have swapped it out, as I've seen photos of the operation. So if you are out there, and you still have the original unit, or bothered to look at it when you removed it, ARE THERE OR AREN'T there rear inputs for auxilliarys?

There are no inputs on the back of the factory unit if thats what you are asking for. No spots to put rca cables.I installed the new pioneer 8400 in the mini and it looks awesome.

NO, not yet... but when my MINI S comes in August I will definitely be upgrading everything...

Alpine 7995 deck, MB Quart speakers, 2 amps, sub... the works! Will take pics when I get it.

Are there any head units that will work with the steering wheel controls?

maynerd,
Sorry to say.... Not that I know of.
I looked in to this with a previous car and had no luck. I too would like to switch out my head unit.... Also want the Cruise control.... so I guess I'll just have some dumby buttons. Maybe we can find another use for them.

Maynerd,
To follow up on my previous post.......
Now I've learned that there may be something out there that will work. I will find out more info on this over the weekend and hopefully have a part # for you as well.
I'm in the same boat as you on this one..... Let's hope it's real.

PAC SWI-X will interface with your MFSW to most any aftermarket headunit that has an infared remote.
