What tools do I need?

I went to buy a set of torx drivers today, but wanted to ask you guys/girls first. What are the major tools needed to work on the MCS? I know that with my hondas a 8mm,10mm,12mm,14mm, and 17mm will take apart the entire car for the most part. I didnt want to spend $30 on a full torx set if I didnt need to. I have a pretty solid toolchest already, but no torx. Which sizes should I really look into?

what you have is the magority of what you need. Alldepending on what you plan on doing to your Mini. A torque wrench is a must.

Torx I have had to use are 20, 25, 30 and 40 (I think), can't remember how bit it was for the seat belt bolts.

You can actually buy the large ones as a socket attachment and get all the major sizes (4 or 5 of them) for around $10 at the auto parts store.

For every day sizes I highly recommend a T-handle set

If I was you.... I'd just get the set. Nothing worse then being half way through a job and find you need a tool. That's when some people try stupid things, like using a standard sized cause it's really, really close and end up either rounding off the head of a bolt or stripping out the inside of a torx or using vise-grips .

By the way pick up a 13mm wrench if you don't already have one (I'm betting you do) you'll need it for the oil drain plug. I agree get the T-handle and add a 15 to the list (interior trim torx size, I think)

I just bought a cheepo $10 set at Autozone since I don't need so much torque on the torx heads. For the ones I needed to do steering wheel, etc. in the past that use higher torque, I went to Sears and just got the 1/2" drives.
