May 15 Raleigh Meeting

Just wanted to start the thread about our monthly meeting coming up.

Hopefully there will be some interest in it, but since the dragon was a couple weeks before, who knows. Please respond to this post if interested and a time and place will be decided upon if there's enough interest.

Interested people:

1MiniGrl
Moorlockx (Not Bob's last name! )

No problem. Just hope I have the energy after VNV's and Bella Morte's shows coming up!

So there are two now!

Hi guys...

Since I am hosting a pre-Dragon meeting on May 1st to prep MINI's for the MOTD, I am happy to have this as the monthly meeting.

Audioman, Twister, c-mini-go, WINDMEUP and I will already be there.

Why don't you guys come by that Sunday, we'll chat, have lunch, just generally socialize while we work on cars.

Just a thought, but wouldn't it be better to stick to the schedule that was set up for the meetings (ie. 3rd Sunday)? The 1st is kind of short notice to allow people to plan to come.

If I weren't already tied up this weekend I wouldn't mind coming by though.

That's fine to leave it as 3rd Sunday... it just seems we always struggle to make something happen on that fixed day. I just thought since we are getting together already, why not call it a meeting.

So, the 3rd Sunday it is.

You're the chapter VP, so it's up to you how you want to do it. I just thought I'd add my $.02 to the discussion. There's nothing wrong with doing things on other days.

Can Anyone attend?

Just got my S a few weeks ago and would like to attend. Looking for a good ride and Raleigh is only two hours away. Thanks.

Chris....I might be able to swing by tomorrow. I'll need some directions, though. I tried the link in your previous post and ended up with a page error.

Bump...

Hi Michelle, I'm interested in meeting. For me, it would definately need to be noon time or early afternoon.

Any suggestions on a place?

A noon/early afternoon meet would work for me as well.

I might be able to make this if it is in the early afternoon... around 1 maybe. Noon is cutting it close for me.

I'm not sure if I can make it now. I have a friend coming in from out of town and family as well. Pretty much a full and busy weekend for me.

Let me see how he feels and I'll get back with you, but it may be tomorrow.

Aw, bring him along! You're going to have to eat lunch anyway. Why not do it with a group of people?

I'll ask him so I will have a definite answer tomorrow. Been superly busy trying to get my bathroom done. There is a goth night on Saturday, so hopefully we won't be too tired to come on out!

Then again, has a place been decided upon???

Options:

Pizza/Italian
Irish Food
Hodge Podge (Like Applebees)
Mexican

Hmmmm....what do you guys think????

Lemme know and I can try to figure out something.....

Any fare is fine with me...
Is there a place that has outdoor dining available to enjoy a nice day?
I was even going to suggest Char-Grill on Edwards Mill Road... a burger joint with outdoor seating only. A popular place for another car club.

At the meeting I would like to discuss what we can do as a small regional group to get more participation.

We have 12 members in the Raleigh Chapter and only a few of us are regulars.

As a chapter, what kind gatherings do we want
social meetings
driving events
piggy back on other club events
all of the above
And then plan out the nexta 3-6 months

Since I was lame and didn't ask my friend if he would like to come. go on and make plans to eat some where. I'll be seeing Bob tomorrow and I will let him know then if I'll be coming.

I can be such a tard sometimes, I do have an excuse this time. I had an evil faucet to replace in my bathroom that took all week! ACK! I hate faucets!

That sounds pretty good Chris, as long as the eating area's covered or we manage to avoid the "scattered t-storms". It'd probably be a quieter atmosphere than inside a restaurant to talk. Can you post an address or directions?

You might want to email all the chapter members about this, in case they aren't checking the board regularly.
