Yes. It is a film that can be "peeled" off. But I would let the pros remove it just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the reply, guys.

I'm in NY, andI understand that I can only do a 70% tint to front and back windows, and a 6" visor on the windshield. Can the rear window of the cabrio also be tinted? Does anyone have an idea what the average cost of this would be?

Do a search for a thread called "tint pics" or something close to that. Someone posted a website with all of the tinting laws for each state.

Ny Tint

I too live in New York State. It is legal for the rear windshield to be tinted, along with the back seat windows up to 70%. (That means 70% of the outside light gets through).

The front seat windows are completely off limits, as is the windshield, (no 6" strip allowed), as far as I understand.

That being said, I did tint my front seat windows too, with 52% tint, and luckily have not yet attracted Johnny Law, knock on wood. The place I went made me sign a waiver, where I cannot hold them responsible for any tickets I might receive.

So as you can see, New York is one of the least tint-friendly states. Good luck!

The film can be pulled off (by a pro) the next day... in case you don't like it. That was my case... mine was to light. Keep in mind that the small size of the Mini produces a lighter effect than on other cars I've owned. It really surprised me how tint that looked very dark (on my previous cars) came out much to light (for my tastes)... and my Mini has a dark interiour. I ended up re-doing it with 20% on front side windows, and Limo tint on the rear side, back & sun roof windows. It came out GREAT.
