Financing Help

Hi all!

Looking into picking out a Mini Monster and I need to start figuring out what things are going to run me per month. Was hoping I could get some of your experience in that area. I need to find a good bank/CU to get the loan through, anyone know one with good rates for people with good credit? I figure once I have the approx interest rate I can start squaring away what it will be per month after down payment and all. I am soo psyched to get one, but I dont want to jump into something that I will end up having to give back cause I cant afford it down the road. Let me know.

Thanks!

Well, depends on how much I get for my current car, since not all the money will be going to the new one. Prolly around 4-6K. So I will be paying taxes and a bit with my downpayment.

You say Mini Monster.... wat is that? Is that a certain type of classic mini?
(sorry, im not really familiar with the classics).

Hummm... $4k. You're looking at about a $20k loan on a MCS or about $14.5k loan on a MC...with some minor options, not fully loaded.

so about $375/month for 60 months on a MCS
or about $280/month for 60 months on a MC

This is just a rough guess (Im assuming about a 5% APR).
As you know, APR's differ greatly with your credit history so I can't
really say how much more/less it would be. Hope this helps.

Ahh just talking about a regular MINI. Looking at getting a MCS, with a bunch of options (not set yet). I am trying to justify getting all the toys on it cause I don't plan to get another car for a long time after this. But we all know how that works....there are always bigger and better toys.

Still debating if its worth getting DSC, bigger wheels(sport package), or leather. Also trying to figure out color and such, bonnet stripes...ya know, the normal issues.

First thing is for me to go over to Carmax and see what I can expect from the sale of my car. Then I can start putting it up online and see if anyone wants to buy it. Ah well onward and upward.

I work at a Credit Union that is located near O'Hare in Des Plaines. I got my loan there....the lowest interest rate that they offer is 3.5% for people with good credit. If you need more info, just let me know...or you can go to the website www.alliantcreditunion.org

I will keep that in mind. Gotta work a few things out still. So in the next month I may drop you a line. I appreciate the offer to help.

Thanks!

If you have pristine credit, try www.capitaloneautofinance.com

Approvals online in less than 15 minutes and "Blank Check" (No Bank Draft) sent to your doorstep in 2 business days. I find their rates as competitive or much better than traditional banks and credit unions. I have financed 3 new MINIs with them and my dealer accepts Capital One blank checks with no hassles.

Give them a try!

Ya, but isnt the 3.5% Minilinzi quoted a bit better than the 5+% I saw on the capitalone site? Not trying to bash ya or anything, its just that 3.5% is pretty darn good. I haven't seen better anywhere else, yet.

Either way, its still a month or so off. Thanks for the info, though.
