Evening All, throwing a question out there.Does BMW use a special additive
when a LSD is added to the Cooper drivetrain? i'd like to change out all the
stock oils and use Redline products in my MCS. and is anyone running Redline
in their after market LSD and are you happy with it?

 

The LSD is an option only for the 6 speed MCS or MCSC.

When changing fluids you might want to check with your service dept to see if you are voiding your warranty when not using standard BMW approved fluids no matter how good. Policies may vary from one dealership to another.

 

Not arguing with you, because there are plenty of things that vary from one dealer to the next but... Shouldn't something like this be fairly consistent? After all, MINI USA makes the warranty, not the dealers themselves.

Still, checking with the SA at your dervicing dealer is definitely a good next step.
