San Diego Rolling British Car Day Photos
Thanks to the San Diego British Car Club Council for hosting the Rolling British Car Day! This was an absolute blast. I heard at one point that there were approximately 250 cars there but I am not sure how accurate this count was (it sure seemed that way.) Regardless, I had a great time checking out all the nice cars, getting reacquainted with friends, and making new ones! Although I was slightly hesitant showing up in my new MINI since this is primarily a vintage British event, everybody I spoke to - which is pretty much everybody there at one time or another - was extremely friendly and complimentary. It really doesn’t get better than this! Here are some photos: http://share.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=EeANW7Ru3bNW774
Am I the only one that finds humor in the idea that a running brittish car is a cause for celebration?
I tagged along with Rick's caravan and had a great time.
It was funny because as we got closer to SD we just kept picking up more and more people along the way.
Met some really cool folks, got a little sunburn, sucked some nice Brittish exhaust......

Rick - great finally meeting you yesterday! And wow - great pictures...
My Dad who rode with me cause Mike was in the MGA - had a great time drooling over all the nice pretties.....
(the one shot of my cabrio shows Mike in the MGA just in front of me)..
I thought the run was just okay to be honest. There was a HUGE turnout - but I think whoever put the run together, completely forgot that some of those classic cars (ours included), cannot withstand sitting in traffic for the amount of time we sat. And some of those hills - wowza - not good for those old clutches..but hey - we met some great people before we bailed out in the middle (before lunch)...
Thanks again Rick!!....

Well that sure brought back a lot of memories. I grew up in San Diego and learned to drive in my dad's '65 TR4. Through high school and my first few years of college I spent lots of time driving that TR4 on those same roads. I then left San Diego to go away to college and came home one Christmas to find the Triumph had been sold. Still breaks my heart to think about it. I grew up in that car and miss it like it was my best friend.
Thanks for sharing the pics,
Kris
