Damn these runflats!

So my S03's came in yesterday and this morning I dropped off the car and the new tires at my local tire shop. I had told them that they would have dismount runflats and they said no problem. Well I just got a phone call saying that the sidewalls on the runflats are to stiff and they can't get them off.

I'm thankful they didn't push and end up ruining the wheels but at the same time I'm a little worried that I'm going to have to have this done at the dealer now and will be charged 1 arm, 2 legs and a kidney.

I'm taking the car to another tire shop that's local that has assured me they can do it no problem...I'll keep everyone posted on the runflat saga!

I'm in central NJ is anyone has suggestions
Mike

That's very surprising.

I didn't have any problems at the local Wheel Works. First I've heard of this.....

I found out the same thing a couple years ago. Not everyone has the equipment to mount/dismount run-flats.

I ended up going to the local Firestone repair center a few blocks from my house and they fixed me right up. Make a few phone calls before you have the dealer do it because it will be much cheaper.

The guy that took my RF's off broke one of his machines in the process. He was pretty good natured about it. Good luck.

runflats

I go to Globe Tire in Hackensack, NJ. They have a European tire dismounter that handles runflats.

Mike,

I live in northern NJ and had my stock runflats installed on my aftermarket wheels with no problems. I went to Apollo tire in Denville NJ. i think they have a web page also.

Don't ask "Can you handle them?" Everybody thinks they can whether they have done it or not.

Ask if they sell and install runflats? Then you will get a better answer than some DA thinking that he can do all things automotive

Always make sure the tire store has up to date equipment. I had a shop mount and balance a set of 205/50/15. They gouged all 4 rims. Look for the shop that sells the expensive wheels. They cant afforrd not to have the right equipment.
