Convertible gas lid conversion

Hi.
I just received my '05 Cooper S convertible.
Is the Mini Cooper S gas cap lid conversion applicable to this model?

That's a good question. It should because the 05 Cooper S Convertible has the nifty cap. I did notice, however, that the metal part of the door on the convertibles is different from the hardtop Cooper.

nope....the cooper S gas lid will not fit any convertible...

i guess the convertible mechanism use that part of the body panel space and thus you can not fit the deep indent necessary for the gas lid

So, does the S convertible not have the traditional S cap?

About 99% positive that it doesn't.

i say 100% or else the original message wouldnt make sense...he says he bought a MCSC and wants to add the MCS gas cap

I read it in GOmini...they assured the reader that it wouldnt fit because of the folding roof mechanism taking up too much space.

Naw, you can sell it to a Cooper Owner! Put an ad on the marketplace!
