Changing from 16" Vspokes to 17" S-lites.. will speedometer be effected?

Hi all. I just swapped out my 16 Vspokes (X-lites?) with stock run-flats to a set of 17" S-lites with stock run-flats.

Will my speedo or anything else be effected since these are slightly bigger?

Anything I should do?

Thanks!

It'll depend on the overall diameter of the wheel/tire package you installed. If the aspect ratio of the new 17's is lower than the 16's you pulled, you may be near the same overall diameter. The only way to know for sure is to measure the diameter of the ones you took off and the ones you put on and figure the difference in size.

I'd guess that the 17's are somewhat larger overall, so yes, there will be some speedo error. Should be minimal, though. . .

I'm too lazy to do a search, Somewhere here there is a thread or two or three on the subject. Any way our speedometers read high,so going to taller tires will just bring you closer to reality. BP was correct in saying the change will be minimal. I've never heard anyone mention a difference in bolt length. Easy enough to check though.

You went stock wheel/tire to stock wheel/tire on your MCS, correct?

Should be no problem. but you should re-torque your lugs just in
case as lugs tend to loosen after a couple of miles.

Put in your old and new tire sizes and this will tell you everything you need to know, including speedo correction ratios: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
