R50/53 Color Choices...

I know everybody will have their own opinion, and one of the most fun things about ordering your MINI is picking out the color! BUT...I have a problem (albeit a GREAT problem!). I cannot decide on my color palate. I've put my order in for a loaded Cooper that is Pure Silver with Black roof & mirror with the Chrome Bumper inlays (the chrome details are a must in my book!!!). But now I'm thinking seriously about going British Racing Green with White Roof and Mirrors and White Bonnet Stripes. AHHHHHHH! What's a guy to do?
The obvious answer is to get one of each, but my checkbook (not to mention my wife) doesn't agree!
What are some of your favorites?
I love the red, but red doesn't weather well in my part of the country (Oklahoma...and no I ain't no redneck or one of them there hicks!).

I had a tough time deciding on the color for my Cooper S also. I was stuck between Dark Silver w/ Black Roof and Stripes or BRG w/ White Roof and Stripes. I saw both combinations at my dealer(Baron MINI in Kansas) and decided that I liked the dark silver the best. My advice to you is to try to see them both side by side. If I was picking I would say the silver looks nicer, but that is obviously just my oppinion. BRG is a classic color though, especially for a MINI Cooper.

While I love our car, we would have gone for the Indy Blue if we put our order in.
We took what they had on the lot, and my husband is loving it more each day. For me, though, the pure silver blends in too much with th asphalt, and I want to be seen from blocks away. And it's really such a normal color--tons of silver cars on the highway. The daily dirt and brake dust is blending in nicely, though, with the silver paint.

>>I haven't seen any combination of colors that actually looked bad. My leas favorites are probably silk green/white. just too low contrast. the new gold color for 2003 does not look very good either.
I have actually seen the Silk Green/white ones.. and they don't look all that great. You're right, the low contrast is what does it. Mine is Silk Green all over, I'm happy I got it that way! I actually bought it used, and it was the only one on the lot aside from Red, Black, Blue, and Yellow.

I have an easy solution for making a decision like this.
Flip a coin. Heads silver, Tails Green.
Wait I havn't finished.
You have to pay attention to your reaction to the toss. E.G. If it comes up heads and you feel that little voice inside you go "Yay" then go for silver, If the little voice goes "drat" then ignore the toss and go for green, or vice-verca. Some part of you knows what you really want deep down. You just have to know how to listen to it!.
That's how I do it. Of course its usually McDonalds vs Burger King with me.
Hope that helps.
